Derek Carr, QB, New Orleans Saints

Derek Carr went down with a shoulder injury in Week 3, which was later discovered to be an AC joint sprain. The team has said Carr is week to week, and he was at practice on Friday throwing passes, which is good news for the Saints. Jameis Winston will be ready to go if Carr has to miss a week, but it looks like Carr will be doing everything possible.

This week Carr said that he plans to do everything he can to be on the field with his team. “If I physically just can’t play, then I can’t play. But if I’m out there, that means there’s no fear of reinjury, there’s no fear of … being able to help the football team.” Monitor his status, and have a pivot available.

    Deshaun Watson, QB, Cleveland Browns

After a slightly better Week 3, fantasy managers had a little more confidence putting Deshaun Watson in their lineup. However, that confidence may not matter — he is questionable for Sunday’s game against Baltimore. Watson’s shoulder has been bothering him this week, and he was seen working with a trainer and only doing some light throwing on Friday. He was also limited on Wednesday and Thursday.

Head coach Kevin Stefanski is “hopeful” that Watson will play, but if he cannot go, expect to see rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson make his first NFL start.

Jimmy Garoppolo, QB, Las Vegas Raiders

After suffering a concussion in the Raiders’ loss to Pittsburgh, Jimmy Garoppolo spent the week in the concussion protocol. He practiced in a limited fashion starting on Thursday, which is the first step to clearing the protocol, yet it is still uncertain if he will be able to get there by Sunday.

Head coach Josh McDaniels said, “Again, we’re at the mercy of the testing and all the rest of it. He’ll go through the normal set of tests. We’ll see if he clears.” If Jimmy G. is not able to play, the Raiders’ options are Brian Hoyer or rookie Aidan O’Connell.

Update, September 30 | 6:43 PM ET: Despite being limited in practice on Thursday and Friday, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Garoppolo was unable to clear protocol in time for Sunday and is not traveling to Los Angeles.
