Soppe’s NFL Playoffs Fantasy Football QB Rankings: Do You Need To Draft Brock Purdy, Josh Allen, and Jordan Love?

    Published on

The fantasy QB rankings are different for the postseason than the regular season -- how do Josh Allen, Brock Purdy, and Jordan Love stack up?

Fantasy football is the best game out there, so why wouldn’t we re-rack things and play in the NFL postseason? To help guide you as you enter into this next phase of fantasy, here are my rest-of-playoffs QB fantasy rankings.

Which QB Should You Draft in Fantasy Football?

These fantasy QB rankings are designed to help you navigate your fantasy playoff league. The rules are simple: build the roster that scores the most fantasy points throughout the entirety of the playoffs.

Of course, every league will offer tweaks (player limits per team, unique scoring bonuses, etc.), so use these as a guide more than anything. Or, hit me up on social media with your specific situation, and I’ll advise as best I can!

Before I get to the positional rankings, the first step of succeeding in a format like this is to predict how you see the playoffs going.

Who is one-and-done? What teams make it to the Super Bowl? By no means do you have to agree with how I see things playing out, but understand that my projected bracket very much influences my rankings.

Top QBs To Start in the NFL Playoffs

    Brock Purdy, San Francisco 49ers

The NFC’s top seed isn’t going to lack interest in postseason drafts, and for good reason. Their path to a Super Bowl isn’t intimidating, but due to the flashy talent at the QB position that playoff drafters have access to, Brock Purdy may not be valued properly by most.

The bye is going to result in some people wanting to downgrade the stock of Purdy — I’m not one of those people. Based on how I have the NFC shaking out, they face two defenses that rank in the top 10 in terms of the highest percentage of opponent yards that are gained through the air.

Purdy posted an all-time top-10 season in terms of yards per attempt, and with nothing but potent offenses on their projected path to glory, there figures to be plenty of volume on the plate of the young QB.

Let’s not forget that less than a month ago, he was a clear favorite to win the league MVP. He presumably fell short of that goal, but that doesn’t mean he can’t produce monstrous numbers and put your playoff fantasy roster on his back at a reasonable draft-day price. I’m in!

    Josh Allen, Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen completing 79% of his passes in the regular-season finale against the Miami Dolphins was good to see, but realistically, it’s his volume on the ground that creates an elite floor/ceiling combination.

He had 10+ carries three times this season, and all have come in the past month. The Buffalo Bills are in a great spot to win at least one game, and as the No. 2 seed, they are assured a second home game, should they take care of business against the Steelers.

Allen has at least three passing scores or a rushing touchdown in four straight playoff games, a trend he can extend through this postseason, given the trajectory of his usage and the fact that his team is peaking at the perfect time.

This is the type of pick I make in a league that has a top-heavy payout structure. Allen’s range of outcomes is wide and best served if you are willing to absorb the risk for the maximum level of reward.
