Bye weeks are back and starting to make finding a quality TE streaming option a real challenge every week. Fantasy football managers who have been relying on George Kittle or Sam LaPorta will have to go in a different direction at the TE position for their upcoming fantasy matchup.
Here are some of my start/sit options at the TE position for Week 9 of NFL action.
Which TEs Should You Start in Fantasy This Week?
Taysom Hill, TE, New Orleans Saints
I’m fully aware this is a form of cheating, but Taysom Hill’s recent production shouldn’t be ignored. His receiving production continues to be minimal, but for a second time this season, Hill led the New Orleans Saints in rushing.
This is particularly noteworthy because his Week 8 performance came with Alvin Kamara, Jamaal Williams, and Kendre Miller all available and seeing carries in this contest.
Should we expect two rushing touchdowns this week? Probably not … but Hill’s involvement in the Saints’ offense has ramped up over the last two weeks and could be an intriguing play for those affected by injuries or bye weeks at the TE position in Week 9.
Which TEs Should You Sit in Fantasy This Week?
Luke Musgrave, TE, Green Bay Packers
If it seems like I’m picking on the Green Bay Packers’ offense a bit too much, then I would love for them to prove me wrong. Luke Musgrave has been one of my favorite streaming tight end options on a handful of occasions this season, as I continue to expect a breakout week coming at any moment.

Well, that moment hasn’t come through the first two months of the season. Green Bay’s recent performances no longer give me the same level of optimism for Musgrave. He’s a talented player, but until Love begins to show some level of consistency under center, Musgrave feels like nothing more than a deep-league streaming option.

Should You Start Hill or Kyle Pitts?
After flashing some of that all-world potential in two consecutive weeks, Kyle Pitts has returned to modest production over the past two weeks with a pair of single-digit fantasy performances over the past two games.
Hill may be a boom-or-bust option, but his ceiling feels a bit higher with a similar floor at the moment for Pitts. I’ll roll with the hot hand with Hill for Week 9.
Should You Start Musgrave or Cole Kmet?
The word volatility comes to mind when you think of Cole Kmet with Tyson Bagent under center. In Bagent’s starting debut, Kmet didn’t see a single target. In Bagent’s second start, Kmet caught all 10 of his targets for 79 yards against the Los Angeles Chargers.

The problem is that Justin Fields could very well not be back under center this week. However, Kmet appears to have a much higher ceiling than Musgrave, no matter who is under center for the Bears right now. I’ll roll with Kmet regardless of who is the starting quarterback for the Chicago Bears in Week 9.
