Fantasy Football Updated WR Dynasty Rankings Week 16: Where Do Rashee Rice, Jayden Reed, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba Land?

    Published on

The dynasty regular season is now over, and fantasy managers are turning their attention to the offseason -- who sits atop the WR rankings?

One could certainly make an argument that heavily investing in the wide receiver position is one of the safer strategies out there for dynasty fantasy football managers because of their lengthy shelf life and the reliable fantasy floor they can provide your team on a weekly basis.

With that in mind, here are my updated dynasty WR rankings to help guide you as we head into Week 16 of the 2023 NFL season.

Dynasty Fantasy Football WR Risers After Week 15

    Rashee Rice, Kansas City Chiefs

Fantasy managers have been in search of the next big-time fantasy producer alongside Travis Kelce since Tyreek Hill was traded to the Miami Dolphins two offseasons ago.

Many hoped the next man up would be Mecole Hardman. That failed to come together. Then many hoped Skyy Moore would be the next fantasy star in this offense, but that has failed miserably.

Finally, fantasy managers got immediately excited about Kadarius Toney arriving in Kansas City to play with Patrick Mahomes, but he has seemingly worn out his welcome with Mahomes by dropping the ball — both figuratively and literally — by failing to seize the leading role with this WR group.

Well, the correct answer appears to be Rashee Rice. Over the last four games, Rice has 32 receptions and has scored a receiving touchdown in three of his last four games, while Kelce has 21 receptions and zero scores.

During that same four-game stretch, Rice has seen a minimum of 9+ targets, 7+ receptions, and 64+ receiving yards. The Chiefs have made him a big focal point — if not, the focal point — of this passing attack. If this role continues into 2024 and beyond, then Rice’s ranking isn’t nearly high enough.

    Jayden Reed, Green Bay Packers

The Packers’ passing offense has been a bit of a mystery throughout the 2023 season. The inconsistent play of QB Jordan Love has made the offense tough to trust (and project) on a weekly basis, but one constant all year has been rookie WR Jayden Reed.

Reed’s 54 receptions for 592 yards and six scores don’t tell the whole story of his rookie campaign with head coach Matt LaFleur getting him plenty of looks in the running game with designed touches.

Reed’s recent jump in targets — 8+ in three of his last four games — has his arrow undoubtedly pointing in the right direction heading into his sophomore season in 2024.
