Fantasy Football TE Week 14 Trade Targets: Buy Low, Sell High Players Include Pat Freiermuth and Kyle Pitts

The tight end position remains the weakest in fantasy football. That makes trading for tight ends exceedingly difficult. Unraveling all that we saw in Week 13 and translating it into Week 14 TE trade targets is where fantasy managers can differentiate themselves.

To help you get your head around it all, here are our thoughts on some tight ends to buy low or sell high entering Week 14.

Which TEs Should You Trade for in Fantasy Football?

    Pat Freiermuth, TE, Pittsburgh Steelers

Pat Freiermuth’s dud against the Cardinals’ elite TE defense was entirely predictable. He will probably struggle again next week against the Patriots. It’s afterward that you may want him.

In the playoffs, the Pittsburgh Steelers get the Indianapolis Colts, Cincinnati Bengals, and Seattle Seahawks. Specifically, the Week 16 matchup against the Bengals is exactly why you should look into acquiring Freiermuth. Only the Broncos are worse at defending the tight end.

Which TEs Should You Trade Away in Fantasy Football?

    Kyle Pitts, TE, Atlanta Falcons

Every time Kyle Pitts has a remotely decent game, it’s another opportunity to sell him. Against the Jets’ elite pass defense, Pitts caught four of eight targets for 51 yards. The eight targets marked his highest since Week 5.

Even in what was one of his best games of the season, Pitts still didn’t reach double-digit fantasy points. This is just a blip. You probably can’t sell him on this game alone. However, Pitts’ name continues to carry value. If you can sell him, you should do it.

    Trending TE Fantasy Football Trades

Are you considering making a trade in your fantasy football league? Our PFN Trade Analyzer allows you to find the best trades to make in seconds! It also allows us to see trending searches, and we’ve compiled a few of the most popular below.

Should You Trade Kyle Pitts for Isaiah Likely?

We have a three-game sample of Isaiah Likely without Mark Andrews this season. In those games, he’s scored 1.4, zero, and 8.0 fantasy points, respectively. Not exactly starting tight end material.

It’s also only three games. We have a much larger sample size of Pitts being a middling TE2, at best.

Does Pitts still have the name value to trade as someone better than Likely? I’m not sure. If he does, I don’t really see much of a difference between the two.

At worst, this is a lateral move. At best, Likely emerges into a back-end TE1, which is more than Pitts is ever going to be. I would make this move.

Should You Trade David Njoku for Pat Freiermuth?

David Njoku’s six-game double-digit fantasy point streak came to an end. Joe Flacco was a boon for Elijah Moore but not for Njoku. The tight end only saw six targets despite Flacco tossing up the rock a whopping 44 times against the Rams. He caught two for 17 yards.

While Njoku’s performance was disappointing, his remaining schedule is excellent. He’s also been so reliable for so long this season. One week should not push fantasy managers off of him.

I do think better days are ahead for Freiermuth. However, he’s not quite good enough for me to want to move Njoku to acquire him.
