Fantasy Football RB Week 10 Trade Targets: Buy Low, Sell High Players Include Isiah Pacheco, Jerome Ford, and Raheem Mostert

Now in the back half of the fantasy football season, which running backs should you trade for and away ahead of Week 10?

We are now heading toward the playoff push portion of the fantasy football season. Player values have mostly solidified, and draft day cost no longer matters when valuing players.

Unraveling all that we saw in Week 9 and translating it into Week 10 RB trade targets is where fantasy managers can differentiate themselves. To help you get your head around it all, here are our thoughts on some running backs to buy low or sell high entering Week 10.

Which RBs Should You Trade for in Fantasy Football?

Katz’s Other Week 10 Trade Targets: QB | WR | TE

    Isiah Pacheco, Kansas City Chiefs

This feels like a good time to kick the tires on Isiah Pacheco. After scoring at least 13.4 fantasy points in five straight games, Pacheco has now failed to reach 7.0 in two straight games, with the bye week coming up.

Pacheco’s role is still excellent. He played nearly 70% of the snaps this week and handled 16 carries, which he turned into 66 yards. This was the first time in four weeks that he didn’t catch at least three passes. Better days are ahead for the clear RB1 on the Kansas City Chiefs. Invest in him if you can.

    Jerome Ford, Cleveland Browns

With each passing week, Jerome Ford gets healthier and healthier. Despite Kareem Hunt’s capable performance, Ford remains this team’s RB1. He played more than double the snaps of Hunt this week, carrying the ball 20 times for 44 yards while adding five catches for 33 yards.

It wasn’t the most efficient performance, but Ford’s volume is elite. And it’s clear that if both he and Hunt are healthy, Ford is the preferred option. He’s an every-week RB2. Buy if you can.

Which RBs Should You Trade Away in Fantasy Football?

    Raheem Mostert, Miami Dolphins

That’s now three straight underwhelming outings for Raheem Mostert. It appears the Raheem Dream is over. After scoring at least 13 fantasy points in five of his first six games, his best effort in his last three was just this past week with 14.5.

The thing with Mostert is he’s surviving entirely on touchdowns. His passing game role has completely vanished. He had 18 catches from Weekes 1-6. Since then, he’s caught just one. He saw just one target in his past two games, which he did not catch.

The Miami Dolphins are on bye next week. Then De’Von Achane is expected to return. It’s difficult to see Mostert as a trustworthy option down the stretch.

It’s probably too late to get anything of value for Mostert, but if anyone is willing to pay RB2 value, it’s a wise move to make.

    Alexander Mattison, Minnesota Vikings

It was a nice bounce-back week for Alexander Mattison, scoring 17.3 fantasy points. But it was a complete mirage.

Mattison carried the ball 16 times for a paltry 44 yards. He also caught two passes for a very flukey 49 yards and a touchdown. Mattison’s 17.3 fantasy points are his second most this season.

The Minnesota Vikings have a brutal matchup next week against the New Orleans Saints. They do have plum matchups in three of their next five, but their bye is also mixed in. Of course, Mattison hasn’t exactly shown an ability to beat those matchups anyway.

Don’t just give Mattison away, especially with Cam Akers done for the season. But if you can package Mattison with a WR2 for an upgrade, that’s a move worth making.

Should You Trade Alexander Mattison for Rhamondre Stevenson?

Before the season, I would’ve scoffed at the notion that these two were even on the same level. While Mattison has underwhelmed, so has Rhamondre Stevenson. These are two running backs who have not lived up to the expectations of the fantasy managers who drafted them.

Over the past month, we’ve seen Stevenson’s passing game role return. He has 17 receptions over his last four games. The problem is he needs that passing game work to continue because the rushing volume has completely disappeared. Stevenson has not carried the ball more than 10 times in a game since Week 4.

Last week, Stevenson was able to rip off a long touchdown run. Without it, he would’ve posted yet another pedestrian outing.

Mattison’s volume is far more secure than Stevenson’s. He’s now seen 16 carries in two straight games, and Akers is done for the season. Mattison is going to handle all the work he can, especially without Kirk Cousins. The problem for Mattison is he’s inefficient and doesn’t have much of a receiving role.

So, what’s the answer? I would lean toward Stevenson here simply because he’s the better player. I trust Stevenson’s receiving work more than Mattison’s rushing work. And the offensive advantage that might create more touchdown upside for Mattison is mitigated with no Cousins.

Should You Trade De’Von Achane for Jerome Ford?

We haven’t heard a peep about De’Von Achane for about a month now. He got hurt, went on injured reserve, and faded into the background. Is Achane set to return this week? We don’t know yet.

While there is value in uncertainty, I would not trade Achane before getting some clarity on his status. When healthy, Achane looks like a top-five running back. I like Jerome Ford, but Achane is not.

The only scenario in which I’d be willing to move Achane for Ford is if Achane is set to miss a couple more weeks, and my team is desperate for wins now. If that’s the scenario you find yourself in, it’s worth moving the injured player for the lesser but healthier player. Otherwise, I’m sticking with Achane.
