The beginning of Week 4 is right around the corner, meaning fantasy football decisions are coming quickly. With uncertainty around injuries swirling both for Thursday Night Football and into the weekend, there are some tough choices this week.
Some of the hardest decisions involve the Thursday Night Football options in the Green Bay and Detroit backfields. Let’s take a look at my Week 4 RB rankings as we try to unpack who to start and sit this weekend.

The Top RBs To Start Week 4
Aaron Jones, RB, Green Bay Packers
After sitting out two games following a hamstring injury, it looks as though Aaron Jones is set to return in Week 4. While listed as questionable, there appeared to be optimism around the Packers that he will suit up.
Usually, a player coming off a soft tissue injury is tough to trust, and that is no different here. The problem is that with how bad AJ Dillon has looked at times, the Packers may not have a choice but to give Jones a little more work than they ideally would. However, he remains a low-end RB2 because of this rather than a potential RB1.
Jahmyr Gibbs, RB, Detroit Lions
The news that David Montgomery is questionable and could suit up this week makes Jahmyr Gibbs a tricky player to trust. Things looked better last week as he took the majority of the work and had solid returns. However, he didn’t exactly stamp an authority on the job, leaving the door open for Montgomery to return as the starter.

Gibbs will have moments in any game where he makes the decision to sit him look stupid, and with Montgomery not at 100%, those chances are higher this week. Gibbs is someone I would be comfortable rolling with an RB2-type option.
