Zay Flowers Contract and Salary: How Much Is the Ravens Rookie Making This Year?

Zay Flowers has had an outstanding rookie year in Baltimore. Find out how much the Ravens WR earns on his rookie contract.

Zay Flowers has added another dimension to the Baltimore Ravens‘ passing attack in 2023. Entering as a rookie, Flowers injected electricity into the group as they took the No. 1 seed in the AFC.

Having outplayed his value in year one, how much does Flowers earn on his rookie contract?

How Much Is Zay Flowers’ Contract Worth?

After being drafted 22nd overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, Flowers signed a four-year contract worth just north of $14 million in total. The former Boston College star received a roughly $7.2 million signing bonus when he signed the contract on June 14, 2024, and the entire deal is fully guaranteed.

The contract pays Flowers an average salary of just over $3.5 million per season, per Spotrac.

On top of the four-year deal, there is also a fifth-year option available because Flowers was picked in the first round. Baltimore will have to decide whether to exercise that fifth-year option following Flowers’ third season.

In 2023, Flowers earned a base salary of $750,000. When combined with the roughly $1.8 million prorated portion of his signing bonus (distributed equally over the four years of the deal), he carried a cap hit of about $2.55 million.

In comparison, fellow Ravens receiver Odell Beckham Jr. carried a cap hit of $11 million in 2023.

Flowers’ salary is due to increase in 2024, when he will earn a base salary of $978,020 and a roster bonus of $410,000. His total cap hit in 2024 will be almost $3.2 million.

As with all rookie contracts, Flowers’ yearly earnings ascend as the deal progresses, and in 2025, his base salary will increase to just over $1.5 million.

In 2026, the contract increases by an even larger amount, with Flowers set to earn over $2.6 million and carry an overall cap hit of about $4.4 million. The overall contract value makes Flowers the 20th highest-paid player on the Ravens roster and the 57th highest-paid WR in the NFL.

Flowers had an outstanding rookie season. Playing in 16 games, the first-year wideout caught 77 of 108 targets for 858 receiving yards and five touchdowns.

Flowers broke the Ravens’ franchise record for receiving yards in a rookie season and had the most receptions by a Ravens rookie WR.

The decision to draft Flowers has been justified, with HC John Harbaugh saying, “I think Zay Flowers is great. He’s done a great job. He works hard. He comes to work every day. He has a great attitude. A+ in every way, really.”
