Zack Moss Injury Update: Latest News Surrounding Colts RB

    Published on

Indianapolis Colts RB Zack Moss left Saturday's game against the Steelers with an apparent arm injury. Here is the latest news and updates surrounding Moss.

The Indianapolis Colts are fighting to remain playoff-relevant against the Pittsburgh Steelers during Week 15’s Saturday tripleheader. Unfortunately, a wave of injuries has made things a bit more difficult. One of the key players that went down was breakout running back Zack Moss. Here is the latest we are hearing surrounding the Colts RB.

We will continue to update this article as more news becomes available.

    Zack Moss Injury Update

The Colts went down 13-0 early in this game. However, thanks to Moss, the team managed to shrink the lead to 13-7. Unfortunately, that TD was costly as Moss suffered a horse-caller tackle, resulting in an injury.

Although he was seen celebrating his 16-yard TD reception, the RB later went to the bench and was greeted by a trainer. Not too long after, it was announced that Moss was heading to the locker room.

The broadcast said that he suffered an arm injury. Late in the third quarter, Moss was officially downgraded to out.

Moss left the game, having rushed the ball four times for 13 yards. However, he added three receptions for 20 yards and the aforementioned TD. One thing to note, Moss actually suffered a broken arm during the offseason that caused him to miss nearly six weeks.

Moss has been a surprise for the Colts this year. With Jonathan Taylor missing quite a bit of time either due to his holdout or injury, Moss has managed over 750 rushing yards and five TDs. He currently ranks 15th in the NFL in rushing yards.

The RB spent his first two seasons and part of the 2022 season with the Bills after Buffalo selected him in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He had a solid career with Buffalo but spent a good amount of it splitting carries with a number of other backs.

He rushed for 917 yards on 225 carries and eight touchdowns during his 31-game career with the Bills. He was then traded to the Colts midway through last season.

    Fantasy Fallout of Moss’ Injury

Moss was filling in for an injured Jonathan Taylor, and his injury just paves the way for JT to potentially be a league winner after an underwhelming season. With Taylor, however, at less than full strength, Trey Sermon is a must-add.

We’ve seen the Colts give their RB1 elite usage all season long, and while Sermon might not pick up that exact role, his proximity to production is too high to leave him on your wire.

Add Sermon to the end of your bench, even if Moss’ injury isn’t deemed serious. You want to stack your postseason bench with as much role upside as possible, and Sermon certainly has that, given the injuries ahead of him.
