The XFL has given football fans a reason to turn on their television sets during the NFL offseason. Last week, we got our first taste of Thursday Night Football, XFL style. Are there any football games on tonight? If not, what does XFL’s Week 3 schedule look like?
XFL Games Today: Is There Football Tonight?
Unfortunately, there are no football games on tonight. For Week 3 of the season, the XFL has decided to have all their games played on the weekend. It is an interesting decision for a league that has found itself struggling to bring in viewership. It was reported earlier this week that the XFL’s TV ratings dropped nearly 50% during the second week of the season.
However, one shining light with the low viewership is that the league continues to be on par with the numbers that another spring league had last year, the USFL. Hopefully, as the league continues to mature, it will be able to grow a dedicated audience. For now, we will just enjoy football while we have it.
XFL Week 3 TV Schedule: TV Channels, Start Times, and More
Seattle Sea Dragons (0-2) at Vegas Vipers (0-2)
- Date: Saturday, March 4, 2023
- Start Time: 7 p.m. ET
- TV Channel & Live Stream: FX, ESPN+, fuboTV
The first football game of the weekend is between the Seattle Sea Dragons and the Vegas Vipers. The lone game on Saturday, both teams will be searching for their first victories of the season.
The Vipers will likely head into this game with the league’s highest-paid player Brett Hundley at QB after they decided to bench Luis Perez last weekend. Will it make much of a difference? Sure didn’t look like it in the short time Hundley saw the field last week.
St. Louis Battlehawks (2-0) at D.C. Defenders (2-0)
- Date: Sunday, March 5, 2023
- Start Time: 1 p.m. ET
- TV Channel & Live Stream: FX, ESPN+, fuboTV
The St. Louis Battlehawks are starting to garner a reputation for late-game heroics after once again getting an unexpected win last week to go 2-0 on the year. A.J. McCarron seems to transform in the fourth quarter and has looked impressive near the end of games. If only he could do that for the other three quarters.

The Defenders are coming into their own and are playing their brand of football, which looks to be a strong defense and an exceptional run game. Both teams are yet to lose this season, and although 50% of the league makes the XFL playoffs, this could be a pivotal matchup in the North Division.
Orlando Guardians (0-2) at Arlington Renegades (1-1)
- Date: Sunday, March 5, 2023
- Start Time: 4 p.m. ET
- TV Channel & Live Stream: FX, ESPN+, fuboTV
Saturday afternoon’s XFL schedule continues with the Orlando Guardians and Arlington Renegades. After two weeks, it might be a tad early to say this is a battle between David and Goliath, but with the Renegades laying nearly 10 points against the spread, they’re clearly expected to demolish Orlando.
It makes sense. The Guardians have easily looked like the worst team in the XFL, while the Renegades are in contention for one of the best. Orlando has struggled on both sides of the ball, and this Renegades’ defense will be hungry. I expect to see one or two defensive TDs in this one.
San Antonio Brahmas (1-1) at Houston Roughnecks (2-0)
- Date: Sunday, March 5, 2023
- Start Time: 8 p.m. ET
- TV Channel & Live Stream: ESPN2, ESPN+, fuboTV
The last football game of XFL’s Week 3 schedule showcases the San Antonio Brahmas as they take on the Houston Roughnecks.
MORE: XFL Head Coaches
San Antonio is coming off their best game of the year thanks to an impressive performance by their QB. Jack Coan completed 16 of 24 passes for 165 yards and three touchdowns. However, this Roughnecks’ defense will be an entirely different test.
Meanwhile, Houston will look to remain perfect on the year thanks largely in part to Wade Phillips’ excellent coaching, especially on the defensive side of the ball.
