A WWE Legend Makes Bold Suggestion Amid Fans Wondering Who Roman Reigns Will Face at WrestleMania

WrestleMania is approaching, but there’s still no official announcement regarding Roman Reigns’ opponent. Recently, he made a surprise return on Monday Night Raw, interfering in the steel cage match between Seth Rollins and CM Punk.

After Raw, speculation is growing that Reigns could compete in a triple-threat match with Rollins and Punk. But before his return, fans were unsure if WWE even had plans for Reigns at all. Now, a WWE Hall of Famer has shared his thoughts on his potential booking.

JBL on Roman Reigns’ Potential Involvement in John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes Feud

WWE legend John “Bradshaw” Layfield (JBL) discussed Reigns’ potential WrestleMania opponent on the “Something to Wrestle With” podcast. Here’s what the Hall of Famer had to say:

“I would imagine — and I have no insight into anything. This is just pure armchair quarterback, which, by the way, all these armchair quarterbacks have been wrong. And I think it’s great, not because they’re wrong, but I love the fact they speculate just like I do. And I look at stuff and figure, ‘Where are they going from here, or what are they going to do?’”

JBL believes WWE must have a plan for Reigns and that he will be involved in some way. He suggested that the Tribal Chief could enter the John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes feud and might even be the third person The Rock hinted at with his three fingers — or possibly stand on the opposite side with Rhodes.

“I think Roman’s going to be involved somewhere,” JBL said. “And I don’t know if that is — maybe he’s the third person when Rock brought up the three fingers, maybe that’s the third person. Maybe he goes to the other side with Cody.

“I just, Roman is the missing piece here. And because the fact that he is so absent, I think it means that he’s going to be in this. I think if Roman’s on the TV show and he’s doing something with somebody else? I think maybe you can say maybe Roman’s going somewhere else. But the fact that Roman’s so absent, my opinion is he’s going to be in this.”

Reigns Likely To Compete in Triple-Threat Match

Reigns competed in the Royal Rumble and was performing well, making it to the final six competitors before being eliminated by Punk, along with former Shield ally Rollins.

Following the Rumble, Reigns had been off TV for a while, leading to various theories about his WrestleMania plans. JBL may speculate that he could enter the Cena vs. Rhodes feud, but after his appearance on Raw, Reigns’ WrestleMania direction seems clearer.

On Raw, Rollins faced Punk in a steel cage match, where The Head of the Table shocked everyone with his return, launching a brutal attack on both men.

Now, fans are speculating that the three men will square off in a triple-threat match. There are also rumors that this match could headline Night 1 of WrestleMania 41.
