CM Punk is currently embroiled in a massive feud against Seth Rollins, but his goal has always been to eventually main-event WrestleMania. With WrestleMania 41 a little over a month away and no official match set for Punk at this time, many have started to wonder what he will do at the big show.
There are rumors of a potential triple threat match taking place between CM Punk, Roman Reigns, and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania, but nothing is set in stone at the moment. Some theories are being floated around for Punk and his path, and one theory on the path is pretty interesting.
Potential Theory for Roman Reigns and CM Punk Heading into WrestleMania
Famous podcaster and frequent WWE contributor Sam Roberts spoke about a potential theory for WrestleMania 41 involving Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and CM Punk that stems from the favor that Punk seems to be owed from Paul Heyman.
During the recent episode of his “Not Sam” wrestling podcast, Roberts wonders if the favor from Heyman could somehow end with him in Punk’s corner during the potential triple threat match. Around the 22-minute mark, Roberts begins with his thoughts on the theory:
“What if CM Punk’s favor is that he gets Paul Heyman’s services for a night? What if he calls on Heyman for WrestleMania? What if it’s a Triple Threat between Roman, Punk, and Rollins, but Heyman has to be in CM Punk’s corner?”
While the triple threat match itself has yet to be confirmed, it is a decent theory considering all three men seem to be on a similar path towards WrestleMania. Will Rollins vs. Punk vs. Reigns become a reality? If not, some other theories are being floated for Punk.
Could Punk Use Heyman’s Favor For Something Else?
While the triple threat match between Punk, Rollins, and Reigns could very well headline one night of WrestleMania, many have wondered if Punk could use Heyman’s favor to end up in the other main event.
There were some rumors that Punk could find his way into the Cody Rhodes vs. John Cena WWE Championship match, but there are some hurdles to make that happen.
Heyman does have strong power within WWE, but could Punk find a way to use that to make it a triple threat main event?
Punk called out both The Rock and John Cena following his loss at the Elimination Chamber, labeling them as bald frauds.
Some felt that it was alluding to the fact that Punk could very well be aiming at Cena and Rock for WrestleMania, which could lead to his inclusion. Heyman was once close to The Final Boss, so there is always a small chance he could pull the strings.
Regardless of what happens, Punk will most certainly have a prominent role at WrestleMania.
It remains to be seen who he will stand across the ring from at the biggest show of the year, but one thing is for sure: Roman Reigns’ return is imminent. Who he will target upon that return is still yet to be determined.
