John Cena, on Saturday, March 1, at the Elimination Chamber, shocked the world by aligning himself with The Rock and turning heel on Cody Rhodes. His actions that night have been making headlines across the world.
From renowned wrestlers to random wrestling fans, everyone has been sharing their reactions to Cena’s heel turn. Finally, his father, John Cena Sr., has shared his thoughts on the matter.
John Cena Sr. Couldn’t Hold His Frustration
Before turning into a heel, Cena had been playing the role of a good guy for over 21 years and set a Guinness World Record for the longest-running babyface. The last time he played the role of a heel was back in 2003.
No one was expecting Cena to turn heel after more than two decades. Journalist Bill Apter of Sportskeeda WrestleBinge contacted his friend Cena Sr. on the phone to share his reaction to his son’s heel turn. But Cena Sr. was probably not in the mood to address it calmly. Here’s what he said:
“I’m tired of guys like you, I’m tired of the other phone calls that I’m getting. You’re going to have to get that from him. I am so tired of this. Why don’t we just let it play out and find out what’s happening.
“A reporter is a reporter. But listen Bill Apter, friend, enough’s enough and thanks. I won’t say what Cody Rhodes said to you but what I will say is have a nice day and thanks for nothing.”

Maxwell Jacob Friedman on John Cena’s Heel Turn
Maxwell Jacob Friedman (MJF), a close friend of Cena, was approached with the same question, to which he answered that he loved this surprising event.
“John Cena is a good friend of mine. I get really annoyed when people in either company pretend that they don’t… let me put it this way. Yes, I was watching it. I was watching it live. It was an awesome moment, and everybody should think it was an awesome moment because it was,” MJF said.
