Former WWE Star Layla Names These 3 Current Women She’d Love To Wrestle

Layla El was one of the most engaging women in professional wrestling during her heyday, hitting her comedic peak in WWE alongside Michelle McCool as part of the LayCool duo.

While Layla showcased her promo skills and comedic chops with McCool, she also found success as a singles competitor. The former Diva Search winner made a name for herself in WWE from 2007 to 2015.

Layla won both the WWE Divas Championship and the WWE Women’s Championship during her tenure and was ranked in the top 10 of the PWI Female 50 in 2012. She retired in 2015, but fans have always hoped for a comeback.

Layla Names 3 Women She’d Love To Wrestle on the Current WWE Roster

Though Layla has been retired for nearly a decade, she still seems to keep an eye on today’s product. She recently spoke with Wrestlezona about current WWE stars she’d love to face but admitted she probably wouldn’t be too successful.

“I would have to say Chelsea Green because of her character-wise stuff like that. Also, I would love to work with Liv Morgan. I think she works great with everybody else. I mean, all the girls are phenomenal. If I was younger, I would love to face Bianca Belair, too. But yeah, all the girls are amazing. They would kick my butt.”

In an alternate universe, LayCool could reunite to face Chelsea Green and the Secret Hervice. Layla and McCool vs. Green and Piper Niven would make for one of the most entertaining tag team battles.

As for a potential Liv Morgan match, that could also be a fun opportunity. Layla and McCool could return to target the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships against Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez.

Could Layla Make a Return to WWE Someday?

It’s unclear if Layla will ever return to the WWE ring, but the fans certainly miss seeing her in action. While she mentioned she would have loved to face Bianca Belair if she were younger, just the idea of the match is exciting.

Belair is one of the best wrestlers in the world, and she would likely be thrilled to step into the ring with someone as respected as Layla. The dynamic between them, both in-ring and on the mic, would be entertaining for fans.

Will Layla ever make a WWE return? There’s always a chance. A potential Hall of Fame induction, an appearance at WrestleMania or SummerSlam, or even a surprise Royal Rumble entry could all be possibilities.
