After turning heel at Elimination Chamber, John Cena aligned himself with The Rock to deliver some brutal hits to WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Now, two megastars have joined forces, and Rhodes can’t take them on alone. Fans have been speculating about who might enter the feud to support The American Nightmare. Meanwhile, some are making bold predictions that Cena’s team could expand with new faces joining the battle.
One fan even suggested that WWE legend Hulk Hogan could align with Cena. The idea of three of the biggest superstars teaming up against Rhodes at WrestleMania certainly feels larger than life. Now, a WWE Hall of Famer has reacted to this intriguing possibility.
Eric Bischoff Drops Eye-Opening Take On Potential Hulk Hogan-John Cena Team-Up
On a recent episode of 83 Weeks, a fan asked Eric Bischoff if Hogan could enter the Cena vs. Rhodes storyline in support of the newly turned heel. The former RAW General Manager seemed surprised by the question.
Bischoff jokingly responded that he hoped Hogan doesn’t hear about it, believing the wrestling icon would be excited by the idea and eager to get involved.
“Oh, God! Here’s the deal. I’m just hoping he doesn’t hear this. If I get a call tomorrow morning, when he calls me, by the way, and he and I are doing some fun things together that we’ll be talking about very soon. So, we’ve been speaking more than we normally would. (…) If I get that call tomorrow morning at 6:00 am and I see it’s him, I know he’s calling about this idea.
“Not that he’d even volunteer wanting to do it, but he would be so excited about the idea of it. He’d go off and tell me 15 different ways to do it, and it would be fun to listen to because he gets into it like he’s really laying it out,” Bischoff said.
Eric Bischoff Wants This WWE Superstar to Help Cody Rhodes
As fans debate who should join Rhodes in this uphill battle, Bischoff shared his own pick for The American Nightmare’s ally: Stone Cold Steve Austin. Discussing Austin’s entry, here’s what he said:
“That’s kinda cool. I like it. It can make sense for a lot of reasons. Dusty and Steve go back. There’s connective tissue there. There’s legendary connective tissue there, legendary. The story’s already been told.
“It’s out there just wanting to be assembled in a fresh way as a backdrop for a compelling story with a feel-good ending. Somebody write that story, please. It’s not that hard, half the work is done, use AI, I don’t care. Somebody complete that story.”
With Rhodes set to face Cena at WrestleMania 41 with the WWE Championship on the line, fans can sense something massive brewing. Will we witness icons like Hogan and Austin step into the mix? Only time will tell.
