Drew McIntyre and CM Punk are no strangers to each other. After having what many considered the best feud of 2024, McIntyre and Punk have made it clear that they’ll likely never be friends or on the same page.
Both were competitors in WWE’s Elimination Chamber, although McIntyre was eliminated early on by Damian Priest. There’s definitely something there between those two, seeing as McIntyre was also eliminated by Priest in the Royal Rumble.
McIntyre is known to look for revenge, so Priest has to be on his radar. But even with their active feud in the rearview, the former still has some anger directed at Punk.
Drew McIntyre Takes Social Media Jab at CM Punk
Following Punk’s intense promo directed at The Rock, John Cena, and Seth Rollins, McIntyre took to X to direct his attention to him. McIntyre would quote this tweet that’s almost 14 years old from The Rock, in which he addressed Punk.
CM Punk: it's simple business – The Rock is the main event at Wrestlemania cause it draws more money in one night, then u will in lifetime.
— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) June 29, 2011
McIntyre and his quote would be direct, showing that there was no love lost between himself and Punk.
14 years on and still relevant. Cry more you bitch Punk. I’ll see you down the line. https://t.co/YdZoSnrIwG

Yet, despite this shot at Punk, it seems unlikely that these two will cross paths again on the Road to WrestleMania.
What’s McIntyre’s Path for WrestleMania 41?
McIntyre’s path for WrestleMania 41 is starting to become more clear. If you look at all of the top stars in the WWE right now, they’re all occupied.
Rollins and Punk seem to be tied up currently in a world of their own, while Roman Reigns has been out on hiatus and is likely to have some form of involvement in that feud when he does return.
Both Cody Rhodes and John Cena are set for their battle at WrestleMania, with The Rock and potentially Travis Scott lingering somewhere around there as well. Jey Uso and Gunther have their path to a World Heavyweight Championship match, while Kevin Owens and Randy Orton also have their path forged.
Where does this leave McIntyre?
If he wanted to put his sights on an old foe, McIntyre could always target Sami Zayn. Zayn has been stuck in a feud with Owens for some time, but with Orton’s return, he could be free for a match by WrestleMania. However, that doesn’t seem like the match for McIntyre.
Priest, meanwhile, has caused McIntyre to lose two pivotal matches that he desperately needed to win. The story is there, the aggression is there, and McIntyre vs. Priest seems like the logical next step for WrestleMania 41.
If McIntyre is angry (as he usually is), you know revenge has to be on his mind. With that being said, he should make his thoughts known very soon for WrestleMania 41!
