Could This WWE Hall of Famer Make a Comeback for 1 Final WrestleMania Showdown?

Many exciting matches have already been booked for WrestleMania 41, but could we expect one more thrilling battle as a WWE Hall of Famer has announced he’s back for one final match?

Bill Goldberg Made His Presence Known

The WCW icon Bill Goldberg is one of the most popular names in the wrestling industry. He last competed in a match three years ago against Roman Reigns and hasn’t returned to the ring since then.

Last year, Goldberg shared that he would play his retirement match in 2025. Since his announcement, fans have been wondering when, where, and against whom it would take place.

With a recent update from Goldberg himself, it seems two of those questions could be answered. The two-time Universal Champion had been inactive on X for a long time, but recently, he shared a post informing his fans that he’s back!

    “I AM BACK!!!!! 🙏😤”

Goldberg Last Wrestled 3 Years Ago

As mentioned, the WWE legend last participated in a match three years ago. It was at Elimination Chamber in 2022, where he faced Reigns with the Universal title on the line. Yet, the Tribal Chief successfully defended his title at the event.

A year later, on the “Chicago Sports” podcast, Goldberg addressed his last few matches.

“The only reason I agreed to do that match was because they agreed to give me another one. So the answer… early in my career, I always tried to give everybody my best.

“Except towards the end, it was tough to get into it because it’s like, ‘OK, you’re wrestling Roman… and it’s COVID, and there’s no one in the stands. Oh no, you’re not wrestling him, you’re wrestling Drew [McIntyre] in an hour…’ It was a different time, and things were different towards the end of my tenure.”

    Possible Opponent at WrestleMania 41

The 58-year-old wrestler’s last WWE match could come at WrestleMania 41, and there’s one name that fans are predicting as his potential opponent at the event.

Goldberg made a surprise appearance at Bad Blood last year in October, where he was in the crowd enjoying the WWE premium live event with his family. Gunther, the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, who appeared in the ring with Triple H to promote the Men’s Crown Jewel title, insulted Goldberg in front of the crowd and his family.

“I really hope for you that Bill is a better father than he is a professional wrestler,” Gunther said to Goldberg’s son. The legend was outraged by this insult and jumped the barricade to address the Ring General.

However, Sami Zayn, who was the No. 1 contender for the title at that time, suddenly appeared and launched an attack from behind, disrupting the confrontation between Goldberg and Gunther.

Since then, fans have speculated that a match is coming between them. With Goldberg announcing his return, it looks like it’s finally happening.

Yet, if Goldberg’s opponent is indeed Gunther, it’s highly unlikely to happen at WrestleMania. The current World Heavyweight Champion is already scheduled to take on the 2025 Royal Rumble winner, Jey Uso, at The Grandest Stage of Them All.

Nevertheless, if this does come to fruition, fans have just one thing to say:

    Gunther, you’re next!
