The Week 15 waiver wire isn’t overly exciting at the wide receiver position. There aren’t high-upside players, but there are some solid floor guys fantasy football managers might want to add. Here are a couple of WR targets on the wire this week.
Top WR Waiver Wire Targets in Week 15
Odell Beckham Jr., Baltimore Ravens (40% Rostered)
It was a bit surprising to see Odell Beckham Jr. available in so many leagues. He’s posted double-digit fantasy points in four of his last five games. On the heels of an impressive 4-97-1 outing and a whopping 10 targets, Beckham sure looks like the Ravens’ WR2.
The Ravens get the Jaguars and 49ers over the next two weeks, two favorable matchups for wide receivers. Beckham is a priority pickup for fantasy managers in need of a WR3.
FAAB Recommendation: 15-20%
Zay Jones, Jacksonville Jaguars (29% Rostered)
It was another uneventful outing for Zay Jones in Week 14, with just five catches for 29 yards. However, Jones saw 14 targets. With Christian Kirk done for the season, the Jaguars have to utilize Jones more.
More Waiver Wire Targets: RB | TE | QB
The Jaguars will have better matchups than the Browns going forward. Trevor Lawrence looked healthy. Jones has serious upside, given his usage. Pick him up.
FAAB Recommendation: 15-20%
Curtis Samuel, Washington Commanders (35% Rostered)
Often, fantasy managers overlook players who are on bye. Curtis Samuel was a recommended pickup last week, and nothing has changed. He’s posted 4-65 and 9-100 lines in his last two games. He is a startable WR3/4 — add him if he’s out there.
FAAB Recommendation: 5-10%
Which WRs Should You Roster in Fantasy Football?
Should You Roster Samuel or Jakobi Meyers?
The Jakobi Meyers that started the season scorching hot seems like such a distant memory. After posting 15+ fantasy points in five of his first six games, Meyers has just one game over 15 fantasy points since.
The move from Jimmy Garoppolo to Aidan O’Connell has not been a kind one for Meyers. By no means was Garoppolo playing well. But he was far more capable of supporting two fantasy-relevant receivers than the rookie.
Samuel comes with the lowest of weekly floors. A zero-point game is plausible for him. But his ceiling is as high as Meyers’.
Meyers has the schedule advantage over the final three weeks of the season. I’m just not sure how much it matters.
This is a decision between Sam Howell’s WR2 and AOC’s WR2. Given how underwhelming Meyers has been, I’m siding with Samuel.
Should You Roster Jones or Gabe Davis?
Jones absolutely cannot post the big games Gabe Davis can. Let’s get that out of the way first. But Davis is also never seeing 14 targets in a game like Jones just did.
Davis somehow has four games over 20 fantasy points this season. If your team needs ceiling plays, Davis is the clear choice. But we know what his floor is. It is quite literally zero — something he’s done twice this season (almost three times since he had a 1-6 outing as well).
Jones has a tougher rest-of-season schedule, but he has the more stable role as his team’s clear WR2. Davis has a better schedule, but matchup doesn’t matter for Davis. His random spike weeks are impossible to predict. You know what you’re getting into if you’re starting him.
If you need the floor, go Jones. If you need the ceiling, go Davis.
