Robert Wood Johnson IV, known as Woody Johnson, is the heir to the Johnson & Johnson company and co-owner of the New York Jets. With a wealth of over $3.3 billion, Johnson purchased the Jets in 2000 for $635 million, the highest price for a New York professional sports team at that time. He is currently the Jets’ co-owner alongside his brother, Christopher Johnson.
We’ll take a look at Woody Johnson’s house and some of the luxuries associated with the property.
A Look at Woody Johnson’s Massive $6.7 Million Mansion
Although the 77-year-old has multiple properties to live in, he is known to primarily reside in his family residence in Bedminster, N.J., in the Somerset Hills of Somerset County. The former U.S. ambassador has a house that resembles Richie Rich’s house from the popular cartoon of the ’90s.
Built on a massive 175 acres of farmland, it’s an 11,337-square-foot home. The plot was purchased for a meager price of $3,000, as it is registered as farmland with a house. The house was later constructed in 2015 — a single-family home with two stories, two bathrooms, one massive swimming pool, and a three-car garage designed in a Cape Cod style.
No information about the bedrooms is available, and the house is spread over two units of buildings. Records show that the plot is also used for farming purposes. Jersey Central Power & Light provides electricity to this home, while Public Service Electric & Gas Co. provides natural gas.
The plot is currently valued at $1.4 million, while the building is valued at $5.8 million. Overall, the house is worth around $6.5 to $7.1 million on various listings. Johnson also has an apartment in Manhattan, N.Y., which was sold for nearly $80 million to billionaire Leonard Blavatnik after setting the asking price at $77.5 million. The apartment is located on Fifth Avenue, between 75th and 76th Streets.
Johnson also has a home in Palm Beach, Fla.
