“18 years later, and it’s time to say goodbye to the game I’ve loved since I was six. Thank you for an amazing basketball career. Nothing will ever fill the void of you or the feeling of accomplishing my dream—playing the sport I love with my twin by my side. The places you took me, the relationships built, and the opportunities you gave me—I will forever be grateful.”
Of course, she had to express gratitude for the sport of basketball, which will always be a part of her life.
“It’s hard to express how much this sport has impacted and changed my life, but it will always be a part of who I am. As always, Go Canes #14 out 🧡”
Did Cavinder’s NIL Deal Play a Part in Her Retiring From Basketball?
Cavinder and her twin, Hanna, have been two of the most popular stars in college basketball.
Cavinder, averaging 18.2 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 4.7 assists, was eligible for the WNBA Draft. Of course, her low average affected her overall draft stock, with many mocks picking her in the second round, if not the third.
However, as per ESPN, the twins’ agents, Jeff Hoffman and Alexi Hecht of Everett Sports Management, have reported five-figure earnings for social media posts. Furthermore, they have begun to secure six-figure partnerships and even equity deals with brands.
While the WNBA is a good option, Cavinder is headed a different route with her sister.
