In her first regular-season matchup against her former team, Reese posted 17 points and 17 rebounds. That marked her 57th career double-double, the most through 75 games in WNBA history.

Additionally, per ESPN, Reese’s fellow LSU alum, Shaquille O’Neal, is the only player to log more double-doubles through 75 outings over the last 40 years across the NBA and WNBA.

The WNBA community on X couldn’t help but celebrate Reese’s major feat and noticeable Year 3 development.

YouTuber Mike Daddino shared a video of Reese’s strong two-way play, writing, “Nobody wants to say it, but Angel Reese is having a good season.”

Another user lauded Reese’s burgeoning offensive prowess, drawing a comparison to NBA legend Kevin Garnett.

“Out here lookin like Prime KG!!” the supporter exclaimed.

Real App’s X handle shared an eye-popping fact about Reese’s Tuesday performance, noting, “Angel Reese outrebounded the Chicago Sky starting lineup by herself tonight.”

After the contest, Reese was elated not just about her individual milestone but also about securing another victory for the 8-3 Dream.

“I mean, it doesn’t matter unless I get a win,” Reese said. “I was able to get a lot of double-doubles my first two years, but it feels good when you get a win. So, I’m really happy to be with the Dream. I’m really excited, and we continue to march on for this Commissioner Cup.”

For the third consecutive season, Reese is averaging a double-double, posting 13.6 points, 12.2 rebounds, and 3.2 assists a night through 11 appearances.

The two-time All-Star was traded to Atlanta during the offseason after spending her first two years in Chicago. She was drafted No. 7 by the Sky in the 2024 WNBA Draft and went on to set a single-season franchise record for total rebounds (446) in her rookie campaign. Reese also became the fastest WNBA player to reach 20 double-doubles in a season.
