Quarterback Shedeur Sanders is expected to be one of the top players selected in the 2025 NFL Draft and will likely be the second signal-caller taken. He recently spoke to the media at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine and showed his college receiving corps some love, shouting out four fellow Colorado Buffaloes.

Sanders Fantasizes About Throwing To His Colorado WRs In The NFL
The Colorado quarterback has consistently been one of the top names at his position over the past year, competing with Miami’s Cam Ward as the best signal-caller in the class (despite some detractors).
Sanders started his college career at Jackson State, where his father, Hall of Fame cornerback Deion Sanders, was the head coach. After two strong years, he followed his father to Colorado.
He capped off his time in college, throwing for 4,134 yards, 37 touchdowns, and 10 interceptions in 2024, and became the all-time FBS record holder for career completion percentage at 71.8%. Colorado won nine games in 2024 after winning just four in the quarterback’s first FBS season.
The Colorado receiving corps was key to Sanders’ success last season, and he shouted out Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, Will Sheppard, and Jimmy Horn in his NFL Combine media session.
Shedeur Sanders was asked which Wide Receivers he would fantasize throwing to in the NFL and this was his answer:

Sanders was asked which NFL wide receivers he’s fantasized about throwing to, responding, “I fantasize throwing to Travis Hunter, LaJohntay Wester, Will Sheppard and Jimmy Horn.” Those four were the leading receivers for the Buffaloes last season, and it’s cool to see Sanders give his guys some love. Hunter, Wester and Horn all joined Sanders in Indianapolis, with Wester and Horn expected to participate in on-field drills.
Hunter doesn’t need any love sent his way. The 2024 Heisman Trophy winner is arguably the best player available after posting 96 receptions, 1,258 yards, and 15 touchdowns. The two-way star added 36 tackles, 11 passes defended,d and four interceptions in his final season. He’s projected as the third overall pick in PFSN’s latest seven-round mock draft.
Wester was the next leading receiver for Colorado, hauling in 74 receptions for 931 yards and 10 touchdowns. He’s not as well known as Hunter but has the experience and physical ability to contribute in the NFL. He has below-average size and strength but is a good overall athlete, primarily playing in the slot. Wester is predicted to be a sixth-round pick in PFSN’s seven-round mock.
Sheppard was the team’s third-leading receiver, posting 48 catches, 621 yards, and six touchdowns. His size (6-foot-2, 195 pounds) makes him a viable NFL prospect, as his length, fluidity, and flashes of wiggle in open space offer hope that he can carve out a role at the next level. However, there are questions about his play strength. Sheppard isn’t projected to get drafted in PFSN’s seven-round mock.
The fourth-leading receiver for Colorado was Horn, totaling 37 receptions, 441 yards and a score. He carved out a role as the Buffaloes’ primary return man and will likely fall into that spot on an NFL roster. He’s too small to be a top-three receiver at the next level but is a tough competitor who will find a way to contribute. PFSN has Horn as a sixth-round pick in its seven-round mock draft.
Colorado is expected to have two of the top six picks in the 2025 NFL Draft, and four players have been invited to the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. While Sanders says he dreams of throwing to his former teammates at the next level, he’ll have to get used to throwing to current NFL receivers soon enough.
