Will Levis has shown flashes in his first season as an NFL starting quarterback, but the Tennessee Titans rookie has also dealt with injury issues. After missing time earlier this year, Levis went down again in Week 17. Here’s the latest on the Titans’ QB as Sunday’s action continues.
Will Levis Injury Update
Levis was crushed by the Houston Texans’ defense near the beginning of the second quarter, leading to a sack-fumble recovered by Texans DT Sheldon Rankins for a touchdown.
Levis limped off the field after the play. He started walking to Tennessee’s locker room before pausing, returning to the Titans’ sideline, then boarding a cart to leave the field.

The Titans initially announced Levis is questionable to return with a foot injury. However, the rookie passer was ruled out for the remainder of Sunday’s game early in the second half.
Veteran Ryan Tannehill replaced Levis as Tennessee’s quarterback on its ensuing offensive drive.
Tannehill, who began the 2023 season as the Titans’ starting QB before suffering a high ankle sprain in Week 6, started for Tennessee against the Seattle Seahawks last week while Levis was sidelined by his own ankle issue. Tannehill completed 18 of 26 attempts for 152 scoreless yards in Tennessee’s three-point loss.
Levis, the No. 33 pick in April’s draft, had completed 59% of his passes for 1,792 yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions entering Week 17.

Playing with a weak supporting cast and arguably the NFL’s worst offensive line, Levis ranks bottom five in QBR, success rate, and sack rate.
After Sunday’s loss, Titans head coach Mike Vrabel indicated that Levis’ foot injury is not believed to be serious.
Fantasy Fallout From Levis’ Injury
The Titans’ offense is low on viable fantasy options at full strength, and Levis’ injury doesn’t help matters. At best, DeAndre Hopkins is a low-end Flex play (seven games with under 50 receiving yards through 16 weeks), a ranking that dips with Levis on the sideline.
With Tannehill under center against the Seahawks last week, Hopkins earned just 16% of the targets and finished fourth on the team in receiving yards. Benching Hopkins is a fine option under any circumstance, and Levis’ injury simply gives you more confidence in doing so.
