Will Chiefs Tight End Travis Kelce Play in the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl?

    Published on

Travis Kelce has been voted to the Pro Bowl for a ninth consecutive season, continuing the record-setting career for the Chiefs TE.

The 2024 NFL Pro Bowl is taking place in Orlando, Fla., this week, and fans will be able to look at some of the NFL’s biggest stars as they compete in skill games. Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has been a staple of Pro Bowls throughout his career and will go down as a future Hall of Famer and one of the greatest TEs of all time.

Has Kelce made the Pro Bowl roster, and will he compete at the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl?

Is Travis Kelce at the 2024 Pro Bowl?

The superstar TE has never had more attention than he does now. Kelce is a name known across the globe, and his relationship with Taylor Swift has skyrocketed him into one of the most famous athletes on the planet.

Kelce has been voted to the 2024 Pro Bowl by NFL fans for the ninth consecutive season. The first time was in 2015, and since then, Kelce has made the Pro Bowl every year with a host of other accolades.

He has made the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, won two Super Bowls, four first-team All-Pros, and broken record after record.

However, fans hoping to see Kelce in Orlando will be disappointed.

Kelce will not be at the 2024 Pro Bowl as he prepares to play in the Super Bowl on Feb. 11. The Pro Bowl takes place the week before the Super Bowl, so players participating in the big game are replaced on Pro Bowl rosters.

Super Bowl-bound players voted to participate in the Pro Bowl do not attend, allowing them to concentrate on the Super Bowl game plan and not risk injury before the biggest game of the year.

In the past, the Pro Bowl was played the week after the Super Bowl, allowing all players to attend the all-star event. However, since 2010, the NFL Pro Bowl has taken place during the week before the Super Bowl, meaning those players who are lucky enough to play can’t also go to the Pro Bowl.

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram replaced Kelce on the AFC Pro Bowl roster. The other TE on the AFC roster is Cleveland Browns TE David Njoku.

In purely statistical terms, Kelce is coming off a down year in 2023, as he posted one of his worst numerical seasons. Kelce had 93 catches for 984 yards and five touchdowns in the regular season. It marked an end to his record-setting run of seven consecutive seasons with more than 1,000 yards, falling short by just 16 yards.

That hasn’t stopped fans from flocking to vote for the star TE. Kelce had the fifth-most Pro Bowl votes with 327,263, only behind Brock Purdy (451,864), Christian McCaffrey (429,993), Tua Tagovailoa (414,502), and George Kittle (373,750).

However, he has come alive in the postseason, breaking two records. Kelce and Mahomes now hold the record for the most postseason touchdowns for a partnership in NFL history, overtaking the record held by Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski.

Then, in the AFC Championship Game against the Baltimore Ravens, Kelce broke the record held by Jerry Rice for the most postseason reception in NFL history.
