Why Isn’t Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes Playing in the NFL Pro Bowl?

While the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl games happen this week and Super Bowl 58 the following week, not everyone can participate in the all-star festivities. Will Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes play in the 2024 Pro Bowl?

With Super Bowl 58 a little over a week away, let’s look at some changes to the Pro Bowl now that Kansas City is heading to the Super Bowl again.

Why Isn’t Patrick Mahomes Playing in the Pro Bowl?

The Chiefs beat the Baltimore Ravens in their Conference Championship game and will represent the AFC in Super Bowl 58. Kansas City now heads to their fourth Super Bowl in five years.

However, this means that Mahomes won’t be able to appear in the 2024 Pro Bowl Games as the Chiefs prepare for Super Bowl 58. The AFC isn’t the only one missing out, as the San Francisco 49ers have nine Pro Bowlers, eight of whom are starters.

The third-string QB on the roster, Mahomes sits behind Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and Miami Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, the starter. Houston Texans rookie QB C.J. Stroud will now replace Mahomes on the roster.

Here’s how to watch the final day of the 2024 Pro Bowl Games on Sunday.
