The Kelce family, as we all know, are a competitive bunch. A family doesn’t produce two NFL superstars and potential Hall of Famers if they’re not competitive. The competitive nature goes back to an early age and caused Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce to get kicked out of preschool.
Why Was Travis Kelce Removed From Preschool?
The Kelce family doesn’t believe every child deserves a ribbon for competing and are sticklers for the rules. During preschool, Travis Kelce and the other children were playing checkers. The established rules at the preschool were if you win, you stay on, and he took that to heart.

Kelce continued to defeat the other children one after another and remained on. The preschool teacher intervened and told Kelce he had to share. Kelce disagreed. Quoting his father’s teaching that the winner stays on, he believed he was in the right.

The confrontation between the student and preschool teacher escalated, and Kelce threw a chair at the teacher. Kelce was no longer allowed to attend the preschool. If you recall, he once threw a flag at an NFL official, so this fiery spirit started at an early age.
What Is the Latest on Kelce’s Injury?
Kelce couldn’t play during the Thursday Night Football opener after he hyperextended his knee during practice leading up to the game. The team tested Kelce’s knee in a pool to see how much pressure he could sustain and his maneuverability, but they ultimately ruled his knee was not ready for the game.

With an 11-day rest between the opener and the Chiefs’ Week 2 matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars, there is optimism in the Chiefs’ front office that Kelce will suit up on Sunday. Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has noted Kelce’s progress in the last few days.
Is Kelce a Hall of Famer?
There isn’t any doubt that when Kelce decides to call it a career and retire, the Chiefs’ dynamic TE will be a future Hall-of-Famer. Kelce is the best TE of his generation and ranks up there with the all-time greats at the position. Filling the TE shoes left behind by Hall-of-Famer Tony Gonzalez was an unenviable position.
Travis Kelce continues to play at a Hall of Fame level. #87 ends the season as the leading receiver with 1,300 yards — 3rd most in a season in a career. #Chiefs pic.twitter.com/2reCfsKYER

Kelce has been vital to the Chiefs’ success, and his connection with QB Patrick Mahomes has been the mainstay of the Chiefs’ Super Bowl era. Kelce can make a case that he’s the greatest TE in NFL history. The game has evolved to become more pass-happy, but his impact on his team’s success and the game cannot be understated.
