When Will Leonard Fournette Play for the Bills?

Fournette was drafted fourth overall by the Jaguars in the 2017 NFL Draft and played three seasons in Jacksonville before signing with the Buccaneers prior to the 2020 season.

Fournette is in his seventh season in the NFL with 4,478 career rushing yards and 34 touchdowns on 1,132 carries. He also has over 2,000 career receiving yards.

In 2020 with Tampa Bay, Fournette put up 300 rushing yards and 148 receiving yards with four total touchdowns in four playoff games. In the Buccaneers’ Super Bowl LV win over the Chiefs, Fournette had 135 total yards and a touchdown. In 2022, Fournette had 1,191 total yards and six TDs.

The veteran running back brings additional depth to Buffalo’s roster. The Bills also have James Cook, Latavius Murray, and Ty Johnson in their RB room. Damien Harris is currently on IR after suffering a neck injury against the Giants.

Fournette is currently on Buffalo’s practice squad and has practiced with the team ahead of their matchups against the Bengals and the Broncos. He did not play in Week 9 against the Bengals, and he will not be elevated from the practice squad for Monday night’s game as the deadline has passed for that move to be made.

The only player the Bills elevated was cornerback Josh Norman, as starting cornerback Christian Benford is out with a hamstring injury.

Fournette did make a social media post on Monday that implied he could be playing soon.

Cook has been efficient as the Bills’ lead back this season, as he has totaled 506 rushing yards and one touchdown on 108 carries.
