Who Will Sign Tyler Boyd in Free Agency? Possible Landing Spots Include Steelers and Jets

    Published on

With free agency progressing into Week 2 and Tyler Boyd still available, we look at the potential suitors for the young wide receiver.

Tyler Boyd is a talented wide receiver, and in a league that covets that type of skill, it’s a bit peculiar that he’s still available in free agency. Boyd has been productive in Cincinnati despite being the third receiving option, setting the stage for what has been an interesting free agent market.

While coming back to the Cincinnati Bengals isn’t completely ruled out, we discuss some other fits that may make sense for Boyd’s next NFL stop.

Possible Landing Spots for Tyler Boyd

A Homecoming in the Steel City

The former Pittsburgh Panther could come home and play for the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2024. The Steelers have been willing participants in the free agent and trade markets thus far, and with Boyd still available this late in the process, adding another reliable pass catcher for Russell Wilson and Justin Fields may be the perfect move.

With Diontae Johnson out of the fold, and most of the focus turning to George Pickens, adding Boyd to the mix could be a perfect fit for both the team and player.

Big WR Threat in the Big Apple

The New York Jets are looking for a do-over in 2024. What they thought was going to be a magical season turned into anything but.

Nevertheless, with Aaron Rodgers back in the fold, it looks like, once again, the Jets are all-in for a championship window.

The Jets have been using free agency successfully and have recently added future Hall of Fame OT Tyron Smith into the fold. With a chance to add Boyd into the mix to pair with Garrett Wilson, it could be exactly what Rodgers and the Jets’ offense need in 2024.

Boyd would be once again joining a team with a top-tier QB but with more opportunities to be a bigger piece of the plan, while also being able to compete for a championship.

    Commanders Stay Aggressive

Dan Quinn has come to the nation’s capital with a bang. The Washington Commanders started free agency with one of the largest available cap spaces in the entire NFL, and they have attacked free agency like they knew it.

While the Commanders have made several moves, none may be more of an eye-opener to show that they mean business than by potentially adding Boyd to a group of already solid wideouts. The Commanders already have Terry McLaurin, Dyami Brown, and Jahan Dotson, but Boyd in that group may make him a clear and decisive WR2 behind McLaurin.
