Odell Beckham Jr. remains a free agent following his release from the Baltimore Ravens. Not too long ago, Beckham was one of the NFL‘s brightest stars, a dazzling receiver who would put up 1,000-yard seasons seemingly in his sleep.
While injuries and age have distanced him from that point in his career, Beckham remains one of the top available free agents at his position.
Odell Beckham Jr.’s Free Agency Landing Spots
At 31 years old, it’s hard to believe that Beckham’s last 1,000-yard season was five years ago, in 2019, with Freddie Kitchens and Baker Mayfield in Cleveland.
Since his controversial exit from the Browns, OBJ became a Super Bowl champion with the Los Angeles Rams, where he suffered a knee injury that caused him to miss the entire 2022 season. Last year, Beckham rebounded nicely, catching 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns with the Ravens.
At this stage in his career, Beckham is no longer the No. 1 option that invoked fear in opposing defenses. However, he’s proven that he can be a very serviceable veteran option for a contending team. Let’s look at some potential landing spots.
Miami Dolphins Can Use OBJ as WR3
The Dolphins pay Tyreek Hill a lot of money and drafted Jaylen Waddle with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
In search of a third, veteran wide receiver, the Dolphins reportedly met with Beckham, and there’s mutual interest to get a deal done. However, reports indicate that the Dolphins, who are operating with limited cap space, certainly won’t be overpaying for the luxury of having Beckham in Miami.
Los Angeles Chargers Can Replace Keenan Allen and Mike Williams
Los Angeles was left with Quentin Johnston and Joshua Palmer as the lone receivers worth mentioning on the Chargers’ depth chart.
As mentioned, Beckham won a Super Bowl in SoFi Stadium with the Rams. Perhaps those bright lights of Hollywood could equate in another productive season with the Chargers.
The Chargers currently hold the fifth overall pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, and it’s possible they use that on a blue-chip receiver. Regardless of draft plans, Beckham on the Chargers would give Justin Herbert a reliable veteran option in the absence of Keenan Allen and Mike Williams.
Kansas City Chiefs Can Offer OBJ Chance at Another Ring
While the Dolphins and Chargers are two promising AFC teams, the Kansas City Chiefs provide Beckham with the most realistic chance at winning another championship.
The New York Jets were another AFC East team that was expected to be in the mix for Beckham, but after adding Williams, perhaps that ship has sailed.

The Chiefs got an upgrade at receiver, adding Hollywood Brown in the first wave of free agency. Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, Brown, and Beckham will be a massive upgrade from the receivers Patrick Mahomes had to work with last year.
While Kansas City might be content with the addition of Brown, they cleared major cap space by trading L’Jarius Sneed to the Tennessee Titans. The Chiefs certainly have room to sign Beckham and push for a Super Bowl three-peat.
