    Game
    Pittsburgh Steelers at Cleveland Browns

    Location
    FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland

The Pittsburgh Steelers travel to Cleveland to take on the Browns during Amazon Prime’s Thursday Night Football. Both of these teams are coming into the matchup after losses, but none more shocking than the Browns’ total collapse against the New York Jets in Week 2.

The browns, in their home opener, were up by nearly two scores with a little over two minutes remaining. Joe Flacco led the Jets downfield to score, bringing the game within a TD. They successfully completed an onside kick, and the Jets’ backup QB pulled off the improbable by scoring with no time on the clock to give the Jets a 31-30 victory.

The Steelers, meanwhile, lost a close defensive battle to the New England Patriots, 17-14. For the second game in a row, starting QB Mitch Trubisky struggled, completing 21 of 33 passes for just 168 yards with one touchdown and one interception. During the game, fans could be heard chanting for 2022 first-round draft pick Kenny Pickett.

The opening betting lines listed the Browns as 4.5-point favorites at home in this matchup The total is set at a surprisingly low 38, which makes sense considering how both of these defenses have been playing. The Steelers, however, are clearly missing T.J. Watt, who will miss significant time with an injury.

What does PFN’s Betting Director BJ Rudell think will happen in this Amazon Prime Thursday Night Football matchup? Here is what he wrote in his early Week 3 betting predictions.

“Here’s what we do know — as long as Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt are dominating touches, the Browns have a chance. For the Steelers, it largely comes down to getting their running game going, which should take much-needed pressure off the passing game. Easier said than done. I think this game will be close and am willing to give the home team the benefit of the doubt.”
