As Super Bowl 57 nears, there is one more stop we need to make before the biggest game of the year. Who is the NFL Honors host this year, and what can we expect to see throughout the night?
Who’s Hosting the 2023 NFL Honors?
Country singer and daytime talk show host Kelly Clarkson is set to be the host of the 2023 NFL Honors ceremony. She’s the first woman to ever helm the show since its inception in 2012.
Previously, actor Alec Baldwin hosted the NFL Honors for its first three years, and other hosts have included Steve Harvey, Seth Meyers, Conan O’Brien, Rob Riggle, and Keegan Michael-Key.

Clarkson, who rose to fame after winning the first season of American Idol in 2002, is no stranger to television. Her NBC talk show, the Kelly Clarkson Show, is now in its fourth season. She’s also intermittently a coach on The Voice, returning this season after a brief hiatus.
Clarkson has sold over 25 million albums and 45 million singles worldwide. She has 11 top-10 singles in the US and nine top-10 singles in the UK, Canada, and Australia. She became the first artist in history to top each of Billboard’s pop, adult contemporary, adult pop, country, and dance charts.
Kelly Clarkson Still Surprised by Selection
Clarkson has said that she was surprised to be selected as the NFL Honors host. In an interview with Access Daily’s Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover, the singer touched on some of her insecurities surrounding the role.
“I had mixed feelings. … I was like, ‘Now, wait, I’m not involved in sports ball whatsoever,’” she joked. “Shouldn’t you ask someone who’s involved in the sports community?”
Although she might not feel ready to take on the NFL Honors, it’s clear that the league wanted someone with a proven track record of success. Clarkson has won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for the past three years in a row.
