Texas A&M wide receiver and future NFL Draft prospect Muhsin “Moose” Muhammad III enjoyed a breakout season last year with the Aggies, with 610 yards receiving and four touchdowns. While Muhammad hasn’t had quite the same production in 2023, his talent is evident when he does take the field, and he’s part of a deep and talented A&M receiving corps.
Muhammad’s name is certainly a familiar one, and many fans will likely recognize his father.
Who Is Moose Muhammad III’s Dad?
Many older football fans will recognize Muhammad’s father. Muhsin Muhammad II spent 13 seasons in the NFL for the Carolina Panthers and Chicago Bears. The two-time Pro Bowler racked up 11,438 receiving yards and 62 touchdowns in his NFL career. Muhammad set Panthers’ single-season records for receptions and receiving yards. Muhammad also became the first player in club history to produce two 1,000-yard seasons.
Muhammad sits second on the franchise’s all-time list with 9,255 receiving yards and 696 receptions as a Panther. He is now the President of The M2 Foundation for Kids, a program built to assist with the educational, mental, and physical development of children.
Muhammad III is hoping to follow in his father’s footsteps in NFL success. The 6’1″, 205-pound receiver was a consensus four-star prospect in the class of 2020 out of North Carolina. He was offered by several major Power Five schools, including Ohio State, Alabama, and Oregon but eventually chose to join the Aggies, even over the coach who coached his father, Nick Saban.
The father and son talk all the time about different tactics and methods to help Muhammad produce, picking his father’s brain about what it takes to be an NFL-caliber wide receiver. Muhammad used to watch his dad’s film and incorporated some of his dad’s moves into his own skill set.

Despite being stuck behind Evan Stewart and Ainias Smith, Muhammad’s talent is on full display with every target he earns.
Muhammad III did not make PFN’s initial 2024 NFL Draft Big Board, but he is still a junior, and there are plenty of games left in this season.
