Who Is Singing the National Anthem for the Steelers vs. Chiefs Netflix Christmas Game?

Who will be singing the national anthem before Chiefs-Steelers as the NFL makes its debut on Netflix with its Christmas Day slate of games?

The NFL is set to make its debut on Netflix, arguably the biggest streaming service on the planet, with its slate of Christmas Day games. But rather than stop at that, the league plans to make the day as grand as possible. Before the first kickoff, the league is bringing in various artists for a rendition of America the Beautiful. Plus, each game will have a halftime show.

Before Beyoncé wows the crowd, let’s take a look at who’s coming in to perform during Game 1 of the slate — the Kansas City Chiefs vs. the Pittsburgh Steelers.

For Acrisure Stadium, the NFL is bringing in Voices of Service to perform the national anthem. With the game kicking off at 1 p.m. ET, anyone looking to check into the performance will have to join in a little while earlier.

Their name describes the group the best. Four veterans in the military service, Master Sgt. Caleb Green, Staff Sgt. Ron Henry, Sgt. Maj. Christal Rheams, and Sergeant First Class Jason Hanna came together to form the CAMMO (Center for American Military Music Opportunities)’s Voices of Service.

The four found a shared love for music that has translated into unmitigated success. The crew has already become a fan favorite and has been to some of the more iconic locations in the world with their performances.

They have already graced the stage at the Canadian Embassy and American Legion Convention and were even present at the Joining Forces event at then-Vice President Joe Biden’s home.

Their biggest claim to fame, however, might have come through the hit reality TV show “America’s Got Talent.” Taking part in the 14th season of the competition, their performances magnified the crowd from the onset.

Whether it was Katy Perry’s “Rise” at auditions, Charlie Puth’s “See You Again” for judge cuts, Gavin DeGraw’s “Fire” in the quarterfinals, or One Republic’s “Choke,” their performances had crowds and judges alike spellbound.

In the finals, they chose “Footprints in the Sand” by Leona Lewis, which once again got them a standing ovation. But it was a Finale duet alongside Billy Ray Cyrus that left everyone speechless. Collaborating on “Some Gave All,” the crew had the entire arena cheering them on in unison.

Even though they finished fifth that season, the group had built up enough goodwill and fan support to continue their incredible journey in the world of music.

Something about ankle injuries seems to bring out the best in Patrick Mahomes. Two years after winning the Super Bowl despite suffering a high-ankle sprain in the 2022 Divisional Round vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, Mahomes again fought through an ankle injury to deliver one of Kansas City’s best offensive performances of the season.

The Chiefs recorded a 79.6 (C+) grade in PFN’s Offense+ metric during Saturday’s win over the Texans, their fifth-best in a game all season. Quietly, the Chiefs remain in the top 10 of the season-long rankings despite posting a C-grade or lower in three consecutive games before the Week 16 bounce back.

Pass protection has been a huge issue for the Chiefs for much of the season, and they still only rank 15th for the season in sack rate. However, a week after shutting out the Cleveland Browns in the sack department, they conceded just one to the Texans. It’s too early to say the Chiefs have solved their left tackle problem, but the early returns on kicking All-Pro left guard Joe Thuney out to left tackle are extremely promising.
