    Star-Studded Super Bowl 59 Halftime

The halftime spotlight this year belongs to the famous American rapper Kendrick Lamar.

The Grammy and Pulitzer-winning rapper, who is considered one of the most influential hip-hop artists of his generation, will headline the Apple Music Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on Feb. 9, 2025, airing on Fox.

Lamar announced the news with a social media post on Sept. 8, 2024, captioned, “Super Bowl LIX. New Orleans.” His excitement was clear as he addressed his performance in a statement, saying, “Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I’ll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one.”

Lamar has built a legacy with 17 Grammy wins and a historic Pulitzer Prize for his 2017 album “DAMN.” He has become a cultural icon with his chart-topping hits like “Not Like Us” and collaborations with industry heavyweights, reshaping hip-hop’s boundaries. His last Super Bowl appearance in 2022, alongside Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige, was a show-stopping act, leaving fans eager for his solo return.

NFL’s head of music, Seth Dudowsky, emphasized Lamar’s cultural impact via NFL.com, saying,

“Few artists have impacted music and culture as profoundly as Kendrick Lamar. Time and time again, Kendrick has proven his unique ability to craft moments that resonate, redefine, and ultimately shake the very foundation of hip-hop. We’re excited to collaborate with Kendrick, Roc Nation, and Apple Music to deliver another unforgettable Halftime Show.”

Known for his innovative performances, Lamar is expected to blend hip-hop’s raw power with New Orleans’ vibrant culture. Fans are also speculating potential guest appearances, such as Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, or another big name who could join him, especially as they make their pregame appearances. They are expected to lift New Orleans’ rich musical heritage, making it an electrifying celebration.

This year’s Verizon FanFest kicks off at 4 p.m. ET on game day, offering fans a chance to meet NFL Hall of Famers, tour locker rooms, enjoy local eats, and snag exclusive merchandise. Meanwhile, Jon Batiste, Trombone Shorty, Lauren Daigle, and Ledisi will deliver stirring pregame performances of patriotic classics.
