If you remember the 2021 NFL Draft, you’ll probably remember New England Patriots QB Mac Jones’ different facial expressions and his walk from the green room that later turned into a meme. And if you were paying close enough attention, you probably saw Sophie Scott. Scott is Jones’ longtime girlfriend, dating back to his college days. Who is Jones’ better half?
Who Is Sophie Scott?
Scott works as an influencer with nearly 100,000 followers on Instagram. She graduated from the University of Alabama in 2020 with a degree in kinesiology and exercise science and interned with the football team.
Scott has a wide range of posts. She has a handful of brand deals, using her following to bring attention to her sponsorships. Those following Scott will also see a lot of her and Jones’ dog, Rose, as Scott wears her “Dog Mom” gear proudly.

The Alabama alum also gained attention early in 2022 with a cooking mishap. Thanks to their Furbo, a dog treat dispenser and camera, there is footage of Scott taking a pan on fire outside while yelling out Jones’ name. Luckily no one was hurt, and the two had a good laugh about it.
Scott is also a “Swiftie,” and maybe Jones is too, based on Scott’s post from Taylor Swift’s ERAs Tour they attended at Gillette Stadium earlier this year. Scott also made an Instagram post about seeing the tour in Denver as well.

How Did Mac Jones Meet Sophie Scott?
Scott, who was originally from St. Louis, met Jones while the two were attending Alabama. Jones first appeared on Scott’s Instagram in October of 2019, as the two took a photo following Alabama’s win over Tennessee. Which, ironically enough, was Jones’ first real action as he took over for an injured Tua Tagovailoa. Guess she’s a good luck charm.

The two have been a couple ever since. Scott graduated from Alabama in two and half years to move to the Boston area after Jones was drafted. She attends nearly every game in support of Jones.
She has been at Jones’ side for all his volunteer work as well. Scott made a longer post about her and Jones’ experience in the summer of 2022 when they visited Camp Riverside, a Boys and Girls Club program.
Jones and Smith appear to have a great bond. What is uncertain is when will Jones pop the question to his longtime girlfriend? We’ll see if that’s in his playbook.
