There’s nothing like the love and support of your mother. The women that have brought us into this world, our first relationship, and the reason for being often come with a powerful connection and bond. Such is the case for Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson and his mother, Felicia Jones.
Jackson is a star quarterback in the NFL who looks to be closing in on his second MVP award. He would not be able to do what he does and be where he is today without his mother. The two have a unique relationship and have been able to live and work together as they navigate life through the NFL.

Who Is Lamar Jackson’s Mother, Felicia Jones?
Jones is much more than the young NFL superstar’s mom — she’s also his manager. No one knows you better than your mother, so in theory, who would be better than her to help you run your day-to-day life as an NFL quarterback?
“She’s a huge influence on my life, just by raising four of us, my younger brother, my two sisters,” Jackson said of Jones. “Just [seeing] how she [would] grind and work without complaining … not wanting me to get a job, telling me to focus on football and she’s going to take care of everything else.
“Seeing that, I was like, ‘If she can do that, I can do anything.”
The role of Jackson’s mother is all the more important for him because of the fact he doesn’t have an agent representing him. In a sports world where the overwhelming majority of athletes have outside help from agents and managers, Jackson chooses to lean on his mother and himself to handle his business side of things.
Unfortunately, Lamar’s father, Lamar Jackson Sr. died of a heart attack in 2005 when he was just eight years old, setting the path for a life where he and his mother would come together and grow an even stronger bond.
Jackson’s choosing to go a different path in his NFL journey puts more of a focus on his and his mother’s business relationship, as she is the one who has helped him oversee his contracts and legal doings.

It’s hard to argue with the results that Jones and Jackson have produced. He’s excelled on the field, and they’ve done a stellar job off of it as well, with Jackson’s newly signed five-year, $260 million deal he signed with the Ravens this past offseason.
The combination of the two in the business world has conquered the NFL together, and it started with a mother’s love and a son’s trust.
