The NFL Honors is a big night in the NFL world. The game’s brightest stars from today and yesteryears gather to honor the season that was. It is a star-studded affair that will help ring in Super Bowl weekend in Las Vegas.
With it being such a big night, it’s only proper they get the host right as well. With Keegan-Michael Key hosting the big event once again, the NFL knows they have a good one who can liven the room. Who Is Keegan-Michael Key?
Key is an American actor, comedian, screenwriter, and producer and was a co-creator and co-star in the sketch series Key & Peele with director and actor Jordan Peele.
In addition to the hit show, Key is also known for his time spent on Mad TV, as well as roles in films such as Horrible Bosses 2 and Pitch Perfect 2.
He is a huge football fan and has continuously stayed around the game, whether it be in his personal life or in how he intertwines the game into his work.
Key was born in Southfield, Mich., on March 22, 1971, and attended the University of Detroit Mercy as an undergraduate, earning a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater followed by a Master of Fine Arts in theater at Penn State University.
How Many Times Has Key Hosted NFL Honors?
Key is hosting NFL Honors for the third time, having previously hosted the 2021 show in Los Angeles and 2017 in Houston.
NFL Honors debuted in 2012 — meaning with this being his third time hosting this year, Key will have hosted a quarter of all of the NFL Honors events since its inception.
The Honors features the announcement of awards such as The Associated Press’ annual accolades, the prestigious Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year award that is viewed as the highest off-the-field honor a player can win, and the announcement of the newest Pro Football Hall of Fame Class.
