George Kittle has drawn plenty of attention this season as one of the San Francisco 49ers‘ key offensive playmakers during their successful regular season and run to a Super Bowl 58 matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. Claire Kittle, the star tight end’s wife, has been in the spotlight as a result, drawing attention to her similar athletic background and more recent pursuits on that front.

George and Claire first met back in 2012 while the pair were both attending the University of Iowa. George was a tight end for the school’s football team, while Claire played for the women’s basketball team.
George apparently spotted her one day in the parking lot outside his dormitory and introduced himself before the pair began dating eight months later.
A recurring knee injury ultimately ended Claire’s college basketball career during her senior year, leaving her with career averages of 1.6 points and 1.9 rebounds per game. George never put up gaudy numbers during his collegiate career but did tally 22 catches for 314 yards and four touchdowns during his senior season in 2016.
George was then taken 146th overall in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the 49ers, and the rest has been history for his NFL career. He has tallied three seasons with 1,000-plus yards in the NFL and earned Pro Bowl nods in five of the last six years of his seven-year career.
Claire has continued to challenge herself athletically, too, immersing herself in the bodybuilding world for a competition back in 2018.
George proposed to Claire in 2018, and the couple eloped in 2019, then held a ceremony with family in 2021.
The pair have supported each other through plenty ever since, including George making it back to the Super Bowl this season after being part of the 49ers squad that fell to the Chiefs in Super Bowl 54.
George and San Francisco are not getting a second chance at winning it all against Kansas City, an opportunity Claire said he is not taking for granted.
“I don’t know if you saw the clip of him from our Super Bowl run in Miami when he said, ‘I’ll be back,'” Claire told People Magazine. “It’s an emotional and cool clip. So the fact that he manifested that and this team was able to get back to that position is something you cherish forever.”

Kittle’s 49ers will certainly have their shot to get some revenge against Kansas City and Patrick Mahomes.
