Can Thursday Night Games Be Flexed Out?

Amazon Prime carried the NFL’s Thursday Night package last season for the first time. There were a number of games that were appealing when the schedule was released but were underwhelming matchups when the game kicked off. The league made a major change to the NFL’s scheduling process this year, allowing for Thursday and Monday games to be changed for the first time.

Changes to Thursday night games will be made no later than 28 days in advance. Monday night games can be moved at the league’s discretion beginning in Week 12 and will be announced at least 12 days ahead of time. A game will be played on Sunday if it is moved from Thursday or Monday.

Amazon Prime will be allowed to change the Thursday night game twice starting in Week 13 this season. With the first deadline this week, Amazon will keep the Seattle Seahawks against the Dallas Cowboys matchup in Week 13.
