CBS will broadcast the Dallas Cowboys hosting the Washington Commanders on Thanksgiving. The Cowboys and Commanders are meeting on Thanksgiving for the 11th time, the fourth-most common matchup in NFL history. Dallas has won eight of the first ten matchups.
The Cowboys playing Thanksgiving is one of the marquee games of the NFL schedule. Dallas enters this year’s game with a 32-22-1 record on the holiday. Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott has thrown at least two touchdowns the last four times he’s played on Thanksgiving.
CBS coverage starts at 4:00 p.m. ET with the NFL Today with the usual crew of James Brown, Phil Simms, Nate Burleson, Bill Cowher, and Boomer Esiason. The Cowboys and Commanders are scheduled to kick off at 4:30 p.m. ET.
Who Are the Game Announcers for Commanders-Cowboys?
The lead CBS crew of Jim Nantz, Tony Romo, and Tracy Wolfson will call the game. The trio will also be on the call on Sunday for the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nantz has been the lead play-by-play announcer for the NFL on CBS since 2004, after being the network’s NFL studio host for six seasons. This past spring, Nantz called his final NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament after being the lead announcer for March Madness since 1991.
He has also been the host of the Masters since 1988 and will continue to do so next year. Nantz started at CBS as the studio host for college football from 1985 to 1988.
Wolfson has been the sideline reporter for the main CBS broadcast team since the 2014 season. Before taking on the role, she was on the sidelines for the CBS SEC game of the week for ten years. Wolfson has been the lead sideline reporter for the Final Four since the 2008 season.
Romo has been the CBS lead game analyst since joining the network in 2017 after he retired from the NFL. He spent 14 seasons as a quarterback with the Cowboys. Romo, Nantz, and Wolfson have called two Super Bowls together and will call another one next February in Las Vegas.
Tony Romo’s Career With the Cowboys
Romo signed with the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent quarterback out of Eastern Illinois. He went on to be named to the Pro Bowl four times during his 14-year career with Dallas.
In 2014, Romo had one of his best seasons in the NFL and finished third in MVP voting. He completed a career-best 69.9% of his passes for 3,705 yards with 34 touchdowns and nine interceptions. The Cowboys finished the season 12-4 and won the NFC East but fell to the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs.
Romo would only play five more games in his career because of an injury and retired after the 2016 season. He is the franchise’s all-time leader for career passing yards and touchdowns.
