This is the second straight year that the NFL has opted to focus on the skills showdown instead of a tackle football game for the Pro Bowl. The change was made after the level of play in the Pro Bowl game was criticized for not being as competitive as it was in the past.
The NFL changed the Pro Bowl to the Pro Bowl Games, a variety of competitions in which the AFC competes against the NFC. The final event is a flag football game that features Peyton Manning coaching the AFC and his brother Eli leading the NFC.
Where Are the Pro Bowl Games Played?
The Pro Bowl Games are held at two sites in Orlando, Fla.: Nicholson Fieldhouse and Camping World Stadium. Nicholson Fieldhouse is the indoor practice facility for UCF’s football team, while Camping World Stadium hosts the Citrus Bowl and Pop-Tarts Bowl.
Thursday’s events will be held at Nicholson Fieldhouse and are being broadcast on ESPN at 7 p.m. ET. Sunday’s events will be held at Camping World Stadium and can be seen on ESPN, ABC, and Disney XD at 3 p.m. ET.
Thursday’s Pro Bowl Games Events
A majority of the Thursday events for the Pro Bowl Games’ Skills Showdown will be held at the Nicholson Fieldhouse. The winning conference in each competition will earn three points.

High Stakes: Starting with a football in hand, each player will attempt to catch punts from a JUGS machine.

Best Catch: One player from each conference will compete at landmarks around Orlando. The event is similar to the NBA Slam Dunk Contest, where players will be judged on creativity, inventiveness, and talent. An online fan vote will determine the winner.
Kick Tac Toe: Justin Tucker from the Baltimore Ravens and Brandon Aubrey from the Dallas Cowboys will compete in a giant tic-tac-toe competition to showcase their skills. This event will air during ESPN’s NFL Countdown, which starts at 1 p.m. ET on Sunday.
