Where Is James Cook? Was the Bills RB Benched Against the Broncos?

Bills RB James Cook fumbled on the first play of the game against the Denver Broncos. Has the explosive playmaker been benched?

Fantasy football managers have come to rely on James Cook this season as the young RB has proven to be a consistent starter in lineups with the RB1 role locked up for the Buffalo Bills.

Unfortunately, Cook’s consistency may have reached its end on Monday Night Football against the Denver Broncos as he fumbled on the Bills’ first offensive snap of the game. Has he been benched? Let’s dive in.

Was James Cook Benched in Week 10?

As of right now, Cook appears to have been sent to the sideline by the Bills’ coaching staff after the fumble on the first snap of the game. The explosive playmaker caught a quick pass from Josh Allen and proceeded to get the ball ripped away by a defender as he was going to the ground.

Turnovers have plagued the Bills’ offense this season, and Sean McDermott appears to be sending a message to the rest of his players as Cook proceeded to watch all of the next drive from the sideline while Latavius Murray and Ty Johnson handled the carries for the offense.

As of right now, there’s no indication when — or if — Cook will return to the field here on Monday Night Football in Week 10. However, fantasy managers everywhere are going to be watching this situation closely as he is a key part in dictating whether wins or losses happen here tonight.

We will continue to update this story as it progresses, so make sure to check back in frequently for the latest news and information.

Update: Cook still has not seen the field as the Bills punt with just over 11 minutes left in the second quarter.

Second Update: Cook has returned to the game and immediately saw a carry with around six minutes left to go in the first half.

    Is Leonard Fournette Active?

Fantasy managers have kept tabs on Leonard Fournette after he was signed to the roster here in Buffalo, but he has unfortunately been inactive the past two weeks.

He was not called up to the active roster for the Bills in Week 10 against the Broncos, which means that we will continue to see a rotation of Murray and Johnson if Cook remains in the doghouse.
