The New York Giants have had a tough start to the season, going 1-4 so far. With another tough test on tap against the Buffalo Bills, they will need all hands on deck to help right the ship. However, despite the need for a victory, it does not look to be possible for the team to have a full roster for this one, even at the quarterback position.
Do the Giants have a winning recipe for this week’s matchup with a quality Bills team? It will take everything head coach Brian Daboll and Co. can put together to get their season back on track.
From the current NFL standings to team depth charts to coverage of every game in the 18-week NFL schedule, we have all the news from around the league to keep you up to speed!
Is Daniel Jones Playing Today?
Officially, the Giants’ starting quarterback will be out for this week’s matchup. Jones is dealing with a neck injury that the team hopes will not keep him out for too long. But it will sideline him for at least this week.
Not having your starting quarterback, along with a laundry list of other players who are expected to be out for this one, has made this tall task even taller.

While an injury to your starting quarterback is never good, it is especially tough when you are trying to crawl out of the horrific start to the season they have had.
Josh Allen and the Bills score a lot of points and can do so quickly, and if the Giants hope to stick around, they may need to try and go shot for shot with them.
Tyrod Taylor’s Time To Shine
With Jones out for at least this week, it’s time for NFL veteran Tyrod Taylor to get another opportunity. This go-round is against one of his former teams, and Taylor will be tasked with trying to get the season back on track while also not having a full assortment of talent with him available.
The last time Taylor started an NFL game came in 2021 as a member of the Houston Texans. That season he started six games for the franchise and has since been a backup to Jones for the last two seasons.
In addition to Jones, the Giants will reportedly be without the services of LT Andrew Thomas, C John Michael Schmitz, and LB Azeez Ojulari. Not an ideal situation to see your starting left tackle and starting center not being available to protect your backup quarterback in a crucial, possibly season-saving matchup.
