Now that Michigan RB Blake Corum has established himself as a college football star and potential 2024 NFL Draft prospect, more and more people want to know where he came from. Where did Corum’s journey start, and where might the NFL take him next?
Michigan RB Blake Corum’s Background
While Corum now plays football in the midwest, he grew up closer to the East Coast, in a town called Marshall, Virginia. In high school, Corum went across the border to Maryland, where he played at St. Frances Academy.
At St. Frances Academy, Corum played under future Michigan assistant and current Charlotte 49ers head coach Biff Poggi, and he helped the team compete for national acclaim. In 2019, Corum won the Gatorade Player of the Year award in Maryland before leaping to the college level.
For the past four seasons, Corum has been with the Michigan Wolverines. For three of those, he’s been one of the top-producing backs in the nation. Across his four-year career in Ann Arbor, Corum has amassed 475 carries for 2,843 yards and 39 touchdowns, as well as 45 catches for 322 yards and two additional scores.
Corum Has a Host of Potential NFL Outcomes
Corum’s journey has taken him from the East Coast to the Midwest, but where could it take him next? Unfortunately, the range of outcomes for Corum is vast. He’s projected to be a mid-round pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. There are upwards of two dozen teams that could have interest in him as a rotational back.

Looking at Corum’s profile, however — a physical, explosive, and well-leveraged back with the capacity for volume on early downs — we can start to narrow down the potential fits.
Corum doesn’t have much proven utility in the passing phase. Teams like the New England Patriots, Cleveland Browns, and Minnesota Vikings — teams that value ball control and need increased RB depth — could have eyes on the Wolverines runner.
