Super Bowl Sunday is here, bringing with it plenty of excitement for the NFL‘s biggest game of the year as the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers duke it out for the Lombardi Trophy in the game’s 58th iteration. It’s never too early to look ahead to Super Bowl 59, however, which will crown the league’s next champion in 2025.
Game Information for Super Bowl 59 in 2025
Super Bowl 58 is being played at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada on Sunday, Feb. 11. Kickoff is set for roughly 6:30 p.m. ET. It’s the first Super Bowl the stadium has hosted after just recently opening in July of 2020 as the new home of the Las Vegas Raiders, which relocated from their previous home in Oakland, California.
The last two Super Bowls have been played in the Western portion of the country, with Super Bowl 56 taking place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California and Super Bowl 57 in Glendale, Arizona.
Super Bowl 59 will head back East. Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana will be the host, longtime home of the New Orleans Saints. The stadium has welcomed a plethora of prestigious events, though this will be the first under its new name after changing sponsors from the previous title of Mercedes-Benz Superdome.
It will be the eighth Super Bowl played at the venue under its variety of monikers. It first hosted Super Bowl 12 back in January of 1978, then was home to Super Bowls 15, 20, 24, 31, 36, and most recently, Super Bowl 47.
The most recent championship game there featured the Baltimore Ravens taking a 34-31 win over the 49ers as the lights temporarily went out midway through the game. The game was out of hand early before a San Francisco rally. Ravens head coach John Harbaugh ultimately got the best of his brother Jim, then coach of the 49ers, on the day.
New Orleans also hosted one of the College Football Playoff semifinals earlier this year on New Year’s Day as Washington defeated Texas, 37-31.
The 2025 “big game” played at the Superdome is set for Feb. 9, 2025 and will be televised on FOX.
Although the exact start time of the game is unknown, every Super Bowl since 1991 has started between 6:19 and 6:40 p.m. ET. It’s likely the scheduled start time will be right around the same 6:30 p.m. ET target as this year’s game.
