When Is the 2024 NFL Pro Bowl Flag Football Game?

This is the second straight year the NFL has not played a tackle Pro Bowl game. Instead, the league has all-stars from the AFC and NFC compete in a variety of events on Thursday and Sunday.

The events range from traditional football events like precision passing to more creative events like the Pro Bowl kickers playing tic-tac-toe. There is also a golf event for the closest-to-the-pin competition, along with a Madden video game event.

The marquee event is a flag football game played between the AFC and NFC on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m. ET. The game will be played in Orlando, Florida, at Camping World Stadium and can be seen on ESPN, ABC, and Disney XD.

    Pro Bowl Flag Football Rules

There will only be one flag football game this season instead of the three that were played last year. The scores from the first two games and points won in skill events were added together to determine the beginning score for the last flag football game in 2023.

This season, there will be one game played with four quarters and seven players on each side. The game will be played on a 50-yard field with the normal 10-yard end zones. A touchdown is worth the traditional six points with a one-point conversion from the 5-yard line and a two-point conversion from the 10-yard line.

Peyton Manning, a 14-time Pro Bowl quarterback, is the head coach of the AFC coaching staff, which also includes 12-time Pro Bowl linebacker Ray Lewis as the defensive coordinator and five-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Wes Welker as the offensive coordinator.

Eli Manning, Peyton’s brother, is the NFC head coach. During his career, he was named to four Pro Bowls. Also on the NFC staff are two-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Keenan McCardell, who is the offensive coordinator, and nine-time Pro Bowl linebacker DeMarcus Ware, who is the defensive coordinator.

Last season, Eli’s NFC squad defeated Peyton’s AFC squad 35-33.

    Sunday’s Pro Bowl Games Events

The Pro Bowl Games have seven skill events on Thursday and finish with four additional ones on Sunday before the flag football game.

    • Madden NFL Head-to-Head: Two players will represent the NFC and defend its title against the AFC played in Madden NFL 24 using the official 2024 Pro Bowl Games rosters.
    • Gridiron Gauntlet: The AFC and NFC will compete in a relay race through an obstacle course that ends with a sled push across the field.
    • Tug-of-War: Five from each team will participate in a best-of-three competition.
    • Move the Chains: This offensive and defensive lineman strength and speed competition takes strategy and teamwork.
