    Published on

The Sunday of Week 1 comes to a close tonight as the Cowboys and Giants face off. Here's the Sunday Night Football start time, channel, and live stream options.

After the Detroit Lions pulled off a thrilling upset over the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2023 NFL regular season debut, it is time for the return of Sunday Night Football.

The NFC East returns to prime time as the Dallas Cowboys head to the Big Apple to take on the New York Giants. With another thrilling night ready to kick off, let’s look at the Sunday Night Football start time, TV Channel, live stream options, and more.

What Time Does Sunday Night Football Start?

The 2023 Sunday Night Football season opener features an NFC East showdown between the Cowboys and Giants in MetLife Stadium at 8:20 p.m. ET. Both squads reached the NFC Playoffs in 2023 but lost in the Divisional Round. With a new season starting up, which team will take the early advantage in these important rivalry games? Here’s a look at tonight’s game’s start time, TV channel, and live stream options.

Dallas Cowboys at New York Giants

    • Start time: 8:15 p.m. ET
    • Channel: NBC
    • Live Stream Options: Peacock, FuboTV

The Cowboys made a significant change this offseason in the coaching staff. After having Kellen Moore call the offense from 2019-2022, the former QB mutually parted ways with Dallas after stalling out the last two years in the postseason.

The Cowboys promoted Brian Schottenheimer internally to offensive coordinator in February. While the changes to the offense may provide some growing pains to start the season, it still has the makeup of a top-ten offense.

The Giants struggle against premier offenses. Since 2021, the Giants are 0-12 versus top-10 offenses. The Cowboys also went 6-0 when not throwing an interception last season. New York only intercepted six passes all year, tied for worst in the league.

While the Giants made some additions to the secondary, they are set to start two rookies at cornerback, Deonte Banks and Tre Hawkins III. Head coach Brian Daboll will have a long night scheming around WRs CeeDee Lamb, Brandin Cooks, Michael Gallup, and RB Tony Pollard catching passes out of the backfield if the rookies aren’t up to the challenge.

While the Giants have some offensive firepower, the Cowboys’ defense will make keeping up difficult.
