The Packers also corrected the course after suffering a one-point loss to the Falcons in Week 2. Here’s a look at the Thursday Night Football matchup between the Lions and Packers.

The Lions are a fun team to watch. After some offensive struggles in Week 1, the unit is coming together. Goff continues to play at a level well above what was expected. He’s completed 59% of his passes when attempting a throw of 20+ yards since Week 14 of last season, the best among QBs in the NFL. He’s also completed 70% of his passes this season, the sixth-best mark.
Not only are the Lions finding offensive success, they are getting it early. Detroit has averaged 12.2 yards per attempt on 1st down this season, the best in the NFL.
Part of that has come from rookie TE Sam LaPorta, who has hauled in eight first-down receptions on early downs this season, the most among TEs in the NFL. LaPorta also has 18 receptions this season, the second-most among TEs.
The priority for the Lions will be keeping Goff upright and protected. Goff has turned the ball over on 4.8% of plays when pressured by the defense since the 2022 season. The Packers have pressured opposing QBs on 27.2% of passing plays in the same time frame, the third-best in the NFL.
So far, Detroit’s front office and offensive line have done a great job at that, as the offense seems to move the ball at will. Since 2022, the Lions have run 49.4% of their offensive plays on their opponent’s side of the field, the third-best in the league.
The Packers have allowed opponents to run 47.5% of plays in their territory in the same span, the fifth-worst. Will they be able to continue their offense momentum in Week 4’s Thursday Night Football matchup?
