What Time Is the NFL Game Tonight? Giants vs. 49ers Live Stream Options for Thursday Night Football in Week 3

What time is the NFL game tonight? Here's the Thursday Night Football start time for Week 3's matchups between the Giants and 49ers.

Week 3 has arrived, and the New York Giants are going to California to battle the San Francisco 49ers on Thursday Night Football.

Week 2 featured the season’s first Monday Night Football doubleheader, with Week 3 offering some of the same excitement for NFL fans. Things start in Santa Clara, Calif., this week as the 49ers look to continue their early-season domination. Here’s the Thursday Night Football start time, live stream option, and more.

What Time Does Thursday Night Football Start?

The Week 3 Thursday Night Football showdown between the Giants and 49ers kicks off in Levi’s Stadium at 8:15 p.m. ET. The 49ers have earned a quick 2-0 start after pummeling the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 1 and fending off the Rams 30-23 in Week 2.

Meanwhile, the Giants came back from a 21-point deficit to earn their first win of the season in Week 2. However, New York saw themselves in a 28-7 hole against the Arizona Cardinals with 9:34 left in the third quarter. The 2023 season has gotten off to a rough start for the G-Men, and things won’t get any easier tonight. Let’s look at how to watch Thursday Night Football.

New York Giants at San Francisco 49ers

49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan continues to look like a genius with every week QB Brock Purdy reels in a win. The 2022 NFL Draft’s last pick took over the starting job in Week 13 of the 2022 season and has never looked back.

Shanahan and the 49ers gave him a more significant vote of confidence this offseason after letting Jimmy Garoppolo sign with the Las Vegas Raiders in free agency and trading Trey Lance to the Dallas Cowboys for a fourth-round pick.

Doubling down on the second-year signal-caller has paid off so far for the 49ers, with two wins in 2023. The team has scored 30 points in back-to-back weeks, while the defense has been closing out games, allowing just three points per game in the second half this season, the second-best in the NFL behind Dallas.

The front seven has shut down the opposition’s rushing attack, allowing 65 yards a game. While Kenny Pickett and Matthew Stafford found some space in the secondary, those yards didn’t turn into points, as the 49ers also have the second most interceptions this season with four.

However, while the defense remains reliable, the rushing attack has done the actual damage. Lauded for his offensive rushing schemes, Shanahan hit another level last season after adding All-Pro RB Christian McCaffery to the fold.

    MORE: NFL Standings

The 49ers are averaging five yards per carry since 2022, the best in the NFL, and McCaffery is averaging 4.5 yards per carry in 2023.

A troubling sign for the Giants, who have allowed the most yards per carry since the start of last season, 5.3. San Francisco should have a favorable matchup in their home opener on Thursday Night Football tonight.
