Former NFL tight end Rob Gronkowski and FanDuel Sportsbook are linking up again for Super Bowl 58 to bring the Kick of Destiny 2 to our screens.
It follows the first Kick of Destiny from Super Bowl 57, and the event was such a success that Gronkowski is returning for another shot.
What Is the Kick of Destiny 2?
The Kick of Destiny is back for a second year, with Gronkowski returning to the Super Bowl with FanDuel for a huge promo event.
For Super Bowl 58, the ad is marketed as the Kick of Destiny 2 and is Gronkowski’s chance at redemption. The future Hall of Fame tight end and Fan Duel have already been on the promotion tour with an ad airing to publicize the Kick of Destiny 2.
The commercial has gone viral on social media and stars the former Patriots TE, John Cena, and the late Carl Weathers. Cena states in the ad that he believes Gronkowski will miss the kick, while Weathers thinks he will make it.
Last year, the Kick of Destiny took place in Arizona during a commercial break, and Gronkowski missed the kick. The legendary tight end’s kick went wide left, though he blamed the wind for the miss and said that the attempt was one of the best he had ever had.
A true competitor at heart, Gronkowski was unhappy with his failure and has agreed to attempt the field goal again in 2024.
Gronkowski’s second attempt will take place shortly before the kickoff of Super Bowl 58, and for fairness and transparency, the attempt will take place live. Fans are advised to tune into CBS by 5:45 p.m. ET, to not miss Gronkowski’s field goal attempt.
During a press conference, Gronkowski shared, “I’m not going to miss again. I feel more confident because where I started last year, it was embarrassing.” The NFL icon also shared that he’s been receiving tips from legendary kicker Adam Vinatieri and is confident about making the kick the second time round.
How Does the Kick of Destiny 2 Work?
The rules of the game are simple. Participants guess whether Gronkowski will successfully make the 25-yard field goal or not. Those who are on the winning side receive a share of $10 million in bonus bets, which is split equally between winners.
Even better for participants is that in 2024, the Kick of Destiny 2 is free-to-play within the FanDuel Sportsbook app. Customers just have to select either make or miss within the app to win a share of millions of dollars.
FanDuel states that no deposit is required to participate. You just have to be an existing user or have created an account before the field goal attempt.

Customers can change their picks up until 5:45 p.m. ET on Sunday, February, 11, with winnings being paid out as bonus bets on Monday, February 12.
It should also be specified that winners need to use their bonus bets within seven days. Otherwise, they will expire.
